How about a Hardtail forum also. I'm building a 26" aluminum hardtail. 26ers are the new 29.
Comas aren't as fun as riding your bike, so wear a Helmet.

I know these threads pop up now and again, but seriously, there are so many threads in the 29er section that are better off in other sections, yet nobody moves them. It just screams out "used to have a purpose but has since been outgrown". I don't understand this. If I have a question about a Rumblefish, I'm going to ask it in the Trek forum. If I have a question about 29" wheels, I'm gonna ask it in the wheel section. Sigh.

And what's annoying is, I probably wouldn't care except that for some reason a lot of good information ends up staying in here, so I have to continuously browse the 29er section all the time for stuff I should be finding elsewhere

I tried to give ya a +1 (or 29 ) for a well-put post, But I guess I gave out too mny today.

Anyway, you are right - damn right.
Most of the posts here aren't really specific to 29ers - sure, before, when they (9ers) were a 'NEW' thing, it was a great sub-forum. People weren't sure what to expect, how to size one, what are the characteristics, etc.
It's been long enough now, IMO, that people have a grasp on what a 29er is or is not - shoot, most LBSs claim that they are alot, if not most, of their business. [anecdotally speaking] - 29ers are ubiquitous.
Just like there is no need for a 'Disc Brake' forum, there is no need for a for a 29er forum. They are not unique, they are just bikes

Like you mentioned, if you have a 'wheel issue' - go to the wheel forum. Resident experts in their respective field, don't really hang out here - Like Mike T. for example - or Dougal in suspension.

I say be done with it and shut up the kool-aid evangelists!
    Honestly... ahh I give up

At some point there will be a change. Maybe that will happen when the majority of MTBs out there are 29ers. Or at that point they could just keep this forum and rename it "Mountain Bikes".

Authorities speculate that speed may have been a factor. They are also holding gravity and inertia for questioning.
