    That's just what mine looks like but it doesn't want to pull. It might be a bottom pull. I'll have to take a picture later.

    I am digging the bike though. It's almost ready to go. The shock and XX fork are really nice. The lockouts work great and I can't wait to get it on some mud!

    generally, if the screw is in the back and out by the chain/Driveside of the bike you have a top pull, if it's out on the non-drive side or back by the tire it's a bottom pull

    where'd ya get it? most places will allow an exchange... make sure it's not a dual pull as their mount screw is that same as the bottom but have a little cable guide which will convert it.

    It's an x9 I've had for ages. I know my Yeti has a dual pull XTR on it. I might swap it over just to try it out. Maybe I'll move the x9 to the Yeti as I know it works on that bike. I'll really get some detailed pics tonight after work. I really would like to get this out on the trail tomorrow but if not, no biggie.

    So these are my two current choices. Looks like I have a top mount top pull with a 34.9 collar. I also have an slx bottom mount bottom pull 31.6 derailleur. Looks like I better start looking for a top/bottom 34.9, no?

    ya, Like I said before, you need a High Mount, top pull,.. with the tube diameter (can't remember off hand but I believe it's 34.9..? (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

    I really wanted this done. So, I grabbed my dual pull off my AS-R. Why there are so many options is beyond me. I'm just gonna try to find another dual pull derailleur as a 34.9 to avoid this mess in the future. Thanks for all the help!

    Here's how it all turned out. I don't have the Stans wheels on yet as I need rotors for it still. So I'm using the Laser Discs with centerlock rotors(which, in my mind are the superior rotor design). It's been raining like crazy up here so it's gonna be a mudfest.

    I found mine on Allofcraigs.com. Came out of Tucson and he shipped it to me in Portland. Worked out great.

    Wanted: 20" Voodoo Canzo Frame or complete bike
    Hello Voodoo Owners.

    I have been trying to get my hands on a 20" Canzo frame for a while now with no luck. I spoke to BTI, which is the USA distributer and they informed me that Vodoo has stopped production on this bike.

    I just purchased a medium Canzo and it is just a tad too small. If anyone is looking to unload their frame or the complete bike send me a private message.

    Anybody have any actual dates on when the new frames might be avaliable?
    I finally went in and pulled the trigger on ordering one of these at my LBS last week and was informed that they don't make them anymore.
    I have an option for another frame (Fuji Outland 29er) but I would rather pick up a Canzo 29er unless it's one of those deals where the rumors say next month and it turns into next year.
    I have not seen anything on their website so any info would be helpfull.

However this leads to an answer for rugged34 - BTI said a compatible swingarm won't be in until August, when the new models are scheduled to arrive. So, who's got a cracked front triangle, but a nice swingarm they don't need? ;)

    Otherwise, the poor thing will continue to be cannibalized.....

    where did yours break?.. My rear tri cracked right at the weld of the cross brace to the non-drive chain stay. :mad: Took a while but Voodoo/BTI did replace the frame for me.. my problem was they didn't have any smalls in stock at the time so it took like 6 months, but I got a whole new frame not just a rear tri or Chain stay unit. :thumbsup:

    Sounds about what I was expecting, Im looking forward to seeing what they look like!

    Honestly a little disappointed about the HT angle tho... Seems like all it takes is one manufacturer to to put out a 69 degree HT and pretty soon thats the new standard :rolleyes: I personally loved the 72 HT on my Canzo ;)

    Well and I do agree that if your riding mostly AM or DH the slacker HT angle is great to have but it seems the tendency all of a sudden for FS XC racing rigs is to be the slacker the better... I just don't agree slacker is always better. Besides you cant tell me you didnt love the handling on the pre 2012 Canzo :thumbsup:

    Yup, mine broke in the same place but on the drive-side. It came around the weld to the drainage port they put there and onto the other side of the port. It was probably cracked 5/8 of the way round. I only found it because I heard my pivot bolt pop, and was looking to see what the noise was. Wouldn't have found it until it broke otherwise. I bought it used, so I've got no receipt for warranty issues, if possible. I wouldn't mind a new frame, to be sure. I actually got a hold of Joe Murray when looking for the bolt, and he couldn't help me out either with the swingarm, but did get me the bolt that broke that week, free of charge, so that was cool. Just too bad I can't still ride the bike.

    I've talked to a welder, was going to get mine repaired but I got the new one right when I went to do it. Might want to look into that? He was going to cut out the cross bar and replace it with a newer, slightly larger and thicker one. He was pretty confident that it would hold. See if you can find a welder local who does Alum..? at least then it's not headed o the recycling bin...:eekster:

    My friend gave me the number of his friend that welded his chainstay a few years ago. That crack wasn't on the brace though, but rather a clean break through the middle of the chainstay. I was skeptical about re-welding around the brace so I haven't really pursued it, but maybe I should. Thanks.

    Sorry tough guy, the Canzo's geo didn't work for me, and it wouldn't for a lot of people (as evidenced by as many manufacturers as possible trying to switch to shorter CS), not to mention the bad shock, bad frame flex, and bad pivot location.

    Agreed. It's good for some but not for all. Besides, longer forks, shorter stems, etc can help achieve some of those things. I started with a 110mm stem and switched up to a 70 and my Canzo(2011) can tackle anything. I'm not doing 5' drops but I never have.
    What will work for some won't work for others and vice versa. Hopefully everyone finds what suits them. This isn't my only bike but it's as close to a do everything as I have. It's heavier than my other rig but I don't notice it.

    I hope the ride is as good as the looks, but since I'm coming from a 100mm travel (RS Tora!) hardtail I don't think I'll be complaining.

    Not going to get out on it for another two weeks though which is a bit painful and she wont get a proper test till the end of Sept in Wales, lets hope she holds together...

    here's the 2013 Canzo...
    Just received a shipment of these frames...some changes from the previous model:

    Tapered headtube
    Different looking rocker
    Different gussets on the seat tube
    Rear shock is a RS Monarch RT3

    Geometry remains the same it seems. Will double check the schematics later this weekend.

    May build one up to demo soon...maybe with a 120mm WB Loop up front.

    I gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed. I was kinda hoping for something new like the floating pivot that the Zobop has or some other major change. The longer shock stroke should help though, and the option to run a tapered fork is nice (fox 34 would be fun).

    With regards to VPP/Zobop-like suspension I did hear that they are working on a prototype called the Z29...

    So my opinion is that they Canzo remains as the XC/100mm rear travel/"faux-bar" FS, while the "Z29" may be a trail/120mm rear travel/VPP-style.

    I've seen some Canzos running a 120mm fork with no problems.

    BTI was expecting them in August. I haven't heard yet. The rep said they are supposed to be compatible with pre-2012 Canzos, and they're stronger too. I hope so anyway. I only rode mine for about 2k miles before it cracked.

    Unless they've changed the geometry I would take that tact with caution. My Canzo was awesome, but it had a really high bottom bracket compared to other bikes I've owned. After I adjusted to it I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it was a bit of a shocker at first. Wouldn't want it any higher, which would be one of the effects of a longer travel fjork.

    Since the HT angle is on the steep side, a bit of height-induced slackening would be OK, but I think the BB height would be potentially troublesome.

    I haven't posted here in 1.5 years, but just figured I should check back in. I have been riding on the road and running marathons, so I was off the mountain bikes for over a year.
    As for the Canzo, only a couple of small changes. I am now running a SRAM X.0 shifter and rear derailleur, still with the same 1x9 setup. Other than that this thing has been solid.

    A few more changes since my post 3 weeks ago. The most obvious change is the Lefty, which I just installed today. I will provide a report as soon as I can get it out on the trails, which unfortunately will have to wait until after the NYC Marathon on Nov 4th. The new front wheel is a Project 321 hub laced to Arch EX rims. I took the Syntace Hiflex seatpost out of my parts bin, along with the New Ultimate stem. That will probably migrate back to a road bike, as I don't see the need for a 106g stem on a 27 lb. bike. The new cage (Arundel SS) replaces the rib cage, which works terribly in a smaller triangle.

    Funny that you should say that. For 2013 the Lefty no longer features a shock boot but uses a bushing to hold the oil and a plastic guard to protect the slider.

    The missus just got me a 2013 Voodoo Canzo for (early) xmas. It has the tapered headtube, and the headset that goes with it (which she was told by the site she bought it off) doesn't fit correctly. It is semi integrated and tapered, and the top 1 1/8th bearing cup fits in snugly, but the lower 1.5" cup and bearing slide in with no resistance and then has a slight bit of play. This isn't normal is it? Only ever having 1 1/8th headtubes before all the headsets have needed to be pressed in. Is the lower cup and bearing meant to have slight movement or should the fit be snug with the only rotation being that of the bearing?

    nuttin should move but the bearings inner race

    got pics... Haven't played with the tapered Voodoo but they have always been full press in style headsets.. no semi anythings....

    Took the frame down to the LBS. It took them a while but they found a lower headset cup that fit, not like the one I had that was a smidgen too small.

    How do you like it Jonny? I personally love the Monarch RT3. I have an RP23 on my Yeti and would swap it in a heartbeat if I could afford it. I love being able to flick the switch to the right for steep stuff, keep it in the middle for most things and turn it left and open it up for downhills. I wonder though if the shock would work the same on a different suspension design. But I do love it on the Canzo. I feel they hit a homerun on that one.

    Headset required is an FSA #57. Tried a "typical" tapered unit and indeed the lower bearing wasn't a perfect fit.

    Also, the frame required a 30.0 seatpost. Easy enough to find a shim to upsize a more common 27.2 post.

    Built up a size 18 with the following components:

    White brothers loop 100
    Shimano PRO cockpit and saddle
    Deore 1x9 drivetrain with MRP 1x guide
    Shimano M629 hubs laced to Velocity Blunt rims
    Maxxis Ignitor front, Ikon rear
    Hygia SLP brakes

    Weighs close to 29lbs.

    Inaugural Ride
    The bike feels quite composed on the trail - the rear end doesn't seem to be as active as I expect it to be. Personally I prefer more progressive rear travel, and with the monarch shock it seems the 2013 Canzo has just that.

    The Loop feels like a good match too, and was pretty much set and forget.

    Will take this rig to other trails and see how it behaves.

    Have you tried the Floodgate switch to fully open? I've found the suspension to be VERY active on the Monarch RT3 when it's all the way open. I really do like the settings on it. Seems much more real than a Fox air can. Fox seems to be open and kinda closed. The Monarch is open, somewhat soft and 99% closed.

    If you still have your small Canzo, can I ask what the seattube length is center to top to the seat collar? I have emailed Voodoo with this question with no response. The TT length for the small will work for me but the seattube length on the website is ctr-ctr and seems really strange. Thanks for any help.

    mine's a small... I'll find the pic's a link back... It's a 2009 or 2010 model (the black frame... the green frame is a 2006 I think)

    I ride a med size frame normally (26 or 650B) but honestly they felt small to me, this "small" frame" feels bigger than the med 26'ers thou.. the older frame was longer

    Can anyone post a picture of a Small frame built up? I have searched all 23 pages of this thread and cannot find one posted. Preferably a later, 2011-2012 model with the straight TT. Thanks!

    Comes in just under 28.5 lbs. My first 29'er, first FS, was riding SS and rigid SS prior to this bike. As far as some other posters concerns about the 120mm, I find it works for me. Extra confidence on big rocky AZ drops, and I can lock the front down for any big climbing action. Very fun bike for riding everything from Sedona rocks to Flagstaff flowy-singletrack. I am currently training for some endurance series and will probably drop down to 2.1 Small Blocks or Nano's.

    Thanks TL, I had an LBS get everything fitted to me as far as stem length & height, seat height & position, handlebar angle & SPD cleats adjusted. Needless to say I feel very comfy on this ride in just about any terrain & conditions.

    I am thinking about grabbing a 2013 frame for my first FS 29er build. After reading this thread my main concern is the 18.25" chainstays. My current hard tail 29er has much shorter CS length. I guess I am worried the Canzo will feel like a tank on the trails I ride compared to my old bike.

    Opinions greatly appreciated!

    It does/did for me. Shorter chainstays completely changed the way my bikes since then have handled. I'm now on an enduro 29er, but I had a scott scale as well. Both were much better handlers than the canzo.

    i have a 2012 med. canzo. It is awesome and nimble as can be in my opinion. I'd get it again. However Voodoo's usa website has been down for months and other links are broken so I'm not really confident they know whats up. This is a bummer. I would contact
    their uk offices and see what the deal is but there are some red flags for sure. Also not a fan of the green rocker arms. I'd paint them black or something to match your build.

    For $750, if you're looking for a 29er that will put more smiles on your face than you know what to do with, I strongly suggest taking a peek at the switchback site, they're selling some closeout frames (the one I have) for unexplainable prices. Mine is set up revelation xx, arch ex, and is under 29 lbs with dropper. I don't even look twice at my 21lb carbon hardtail any more. Your be doing yourself a favor at least looking into it.

    Considering the Canzo frame can be purchased where I live for $650 delivered, I realy cant find anything that competes , at least price wise anyway.

    One thing you had to remember is the Canzo is a great bike but a bit dated. With that said the longer chainstays will make the bike feel longer and it will corner much differently. My HT has shortish chainstays and I just picked up a Hammerhead Thumper like TwoNin9r did to build. I am stoked about the bike because it has similar geometry specs to my HT and is a great steal at $750 for the frame and Fox Float CTD. Looks at the Kona Satori or Salsa Horsetheif as a comparison to what the Thumper will do.

    The Hammerhead Thumper has 17.5" stays, and its a similar suspension layout.

    Good call on the Thumper. I've been riding mine for about 4 months now and just love it.

    Well my 2007 Voodoo has been a great bike. I've enjoyed riding it but it's time to retire it. The head tube is ovalized and the creaking is getting old. I am trying to decide on the SC Superlight 29 or the HH Thumper as a replacement.
