    Versatile 29 hardtail 2.6 tires

Was not sure which forum would be appropriate 27+ or 29, can you list some HTs that are versatile (e.g. like SC chameleon) and can fit 29 2.6 tires. I am not looking at full 29+ bikes but more like something like ROS Niner, Chameleon 29er which can fit these tires.

Material is not so relevant. BSA BB of course.

There are quite a few people running 29x2.6 on Kona Honzos. You'll need a steel one if a threaded bottom bracket is a deal-breaker.

2.6" = 66mm. So it's recommended that you have 6mm clearance each side, so 78mm side to side rear space at the widest part of the tread.

Indeed TJ is an option, I can get it $200 cheaper compared to e.g. SC Chameleon (capable of 29 3.0 although not stated) in Europe. As far as I am concerned though those $200 are far outweighed by a LT warranty, no nonsense warranty procedure etc.

    Thanks

The 2018 Nukeproof scout 290 should work. Threaded BB and pretty affordable.

I measured the chain stays as 85mm of space and the seat stays as 78mm.

Itís listed as clearing up to 2.8 in their specs. Iíll probably be ordering some 2.6s when the time comes

Second the Nukeproof Scout 290 or the Sentier 29 if you're comfortable ordering from CRC (don't know where you are), or another great option here:

Save Up to 60% Off Plus FREE SHIP 48 STATES ON ALL BICYCLES FREE SHIP* Motobecane NEW Fantom Boost Ti EAGLE LTD 29er NEW Boost 29er Titanium Bicycles, Boost 29er Mountain Bikes, Boost Mountain Bikes

100mm fork though, that's the only bummer. I haven't measured mine but it clears 2.5 with room to spare so 2.6 should be no problem. Excellent trail geo too.
