Upgraded my 2013 Stumpjumper Elite 29 FSR

I have been extremely happy with my Stumpy Elite. I was skeptical about the Brain, but it is better than advertised. I live in Hawaii so the riding is true All mountain you need the travel and, to be able to climb. The brain is the firmest rear suspension bike I have ridden Period. Then theres the Talas, I own a XC 2013 FS 29er, with Fox float 29 CTD, and they are not even close. This Talas almost locks out, I find the trail setting to be perfect most of the time. I have upgrade a few things. Mavic ST wheels (all mountain version of SLRs with out milling) I needed stronger wheels. KS LEV dropper post (the best on the market Bar None). much quieter and smother that the blacklite 3 and matches the fork. XTR trail brakes(we all know the Avid Elixr 5s are a joke). Easton EC70 Carbon bars 685mm, unbelievable upgrade made the steering lighter and quicker. They have a more planted feel. WTB Rocket V titanium seat, very comfortable. I am running the factory purgatorys they are heavy but tough and grippy in the wet here. I am running them tubeless and the rims are UTS so not tape either. The bike is 28.6LBS with the Crankbros Candy3 pedals and Garmin Edge 500. that is dead on the weight of the Expert EVO Carbon, but I have $5400 in mine that bike is $6400 and I worry about carbon in out muddy rocky environment. Yes the frames are guaranteed but not against abrasion and I trashed a carbon trek frame where the mud rubbed the frame. I could not be happier with this bike.

The Stumpjumper is a cool bike, and the way you have it set up would be the way I would have it set up if I owned a Stumpjumper. Have fun!

Pretty sure they are/were the only Spesh dealer down there, or at least when I lived there.
