Okay, I know these posts are a dime a dozen.... but I would like some opinions. I've been mulling over this for a while and I am going different ways different days. I would like to spend no more than $2200 on a hardtail 29er. With my local shops, these are my options:
1. Trek/Fisher Superfly AL Elite - I like the handling and tapered head tube and steerer tube. Good Standover height for me on med. frame.
2. Cannondale Flash 29er 1 or 2 - I like the Lefty fork - but standover was a little tight to the boys on med frame - smallest they come
3. Niner EMD 9 - Build what I want, but have to be very careful keeping it in budget. Rode a 2011 version in a large (all they had), but am digging the 2012 hydroforming of the tubes and tapered headtube.
I am in my late twenties, weigh in at about 190 and am 5'9 and am an experienced rider. I like to ride twisty technical singletrack with lots of climbing, log-overs, and sometimes fast flowy stuff (farther drive and it happens less often).
Thanks for the help!
