Any new 29er bike from trek coming up for their 2015 models?

Well for 2014 they made a new Superfly/ FS and a new X-Cal, new Fuel EX 29, and Remedy, so I doubt there will be any completely new 29er bikes from Trek next year.

For 2014 the Superfly is all new and the carbon version is the first with carbon road bike engineering input after the Apollo Project 9.9 from last year. Super responsive compliance trail feel. And it has even shorter chainstays and further refinements at a much more accessible pricepoint.

I believe Trek is not doing a "2015" release. I read that they will be releasing models and new colors in some sort of staggered release and not go by the "2013, 2014 or 2015" model years. In other words no "2015 big release". I think they will trickle out when they have them ready. Example: Fuel EX9 29er XO model just release about a week ago. I think Trek announced this last June or so.

Superfly and Superfly FS.. been around for a couple of years.

Also Fuel EX 9.8 and 9.9.

Lots of carbon 29er options already out.

+1 for the Superfly. In my opinion it's the best carbon bikes available on the market today!

Trek has a pretty extensive factory demo tour that includes the Superfly 9.8 in different sizes.
It is worth checking out to see what you think. Carbon can make a big difference in a hard tail, you can get compliance and trail feel.

The Superfly(not the '13 9.9) from last year is a completely different bike with little carbon compliance-- just meant to be stiff.

Hopefully they release a carbon fibre Remedy 29.
They have the 650b in carbon, so I don't see why the 29er can't be as well.

I sure hope they release new colors. I like the designs of the current models but the colors are AWFUL. Some of the base Project One colors are nicer, but the 2015 colors they've already released make me optimistic about the rest of the line.

Agree. After a rough start, with breaking Superfly 100 carbon frames(2010/2011) - Trek finally corrected all of Gary Fissure's design mistakes with the 2012-up models.

As my Doctor just told me that I can't cyclocross, road ride, or properly singletrack until next year due to the wrist I broke in Feb, I am looking to trade my carbon Trek Cronus CX for a decent HT - the Superfly looks to be the bike as Trek don't make any HT 650b :/

I'm a pretty big guy and ride hard - can't decide if it is work it for the Carbon or not, or to wait for any 2015 offering. I liked the idea of there being no 'year model' bikes any more, but now I am in the market, I hate the uncertainty!

Yes, also very, very interested in the carbon Remedy 29er. I read somewhere that they would be available for sale this month, but called Trek-US direct and they had no info.

I also tried going direct but got no response from Trek on when a carbon Remedy would be available.

Loving my SF 9.8 HT. Long distance comfort, tracks like a rail, Thru axles, full XT drivetrain and brakes, DT swiss wheels (tubeless 30-32psi). Just swap out the alloy seat post for a flexy 27.5 XXX and pick your favorite saddle and you can't go wrong. As time go by this is a hard tail that you most likely won't want to sell and you'll want to keep around in the stable. A tail whipping joy to ride...

I just bought a 2015 Remedy9 29 here in Australia and I will get it in mid August. It is a special order in a 23 inch frame. We had the dealer demmo days earlier in the week.

I was told that the 2015 Trek Xcaliber 7 is coming out next month and reading the specs its similar to the 2014 X8. I am leaning toward this bike. The colors are black, white, green which I like and a horrible blue, yellow pinkish color. I wish they would come out with a matte black or gray color but no.

That they won't do. The Sawyer was sort of a two year special edition after a decade of building 29ers.

Carbon 23", as in the XXL ? Can you confirm if seat tube is actual 23" ? On some of Trek's other models, the seat tube is shorter than the size 'they call it'
My Superfly 9.9 XXL is a true 23" and if the Remedy Carbon is same, I'm sold….money in hand. What was the cost ? Thanks

So in terms of 29ers they released: Remedy Carbon, Superfly SS, 920 (More of a light duty trail/dirt road bike), and plenty of bright colour options.

If it fits your budget, you like how it rides, and it fits you, then it is the best bike for under $1000.

Did they make any changes to the frame size or geometry between the 14 and 15 models? I can't find the geometry for the 14s.

    Not that I see.
The Superfly got a change last year to excellent geo with a tapered head tube the X-Cal lacks.
    435 vs 445mm chainstays.
    58 vs 53mm bb drop.
    1116 vs 1128mm wheelbase on an 18.5.

doesn't look like it. the only geo change was 2013-2014 when the .5" frame sizes were started

just looked at Trek Bicycle and i'm not sure about some of these new 1987 colors they have going on. the superfly 6 looks like a good value HT though. superfly 5 is a disgrace. not sure why it's even there. fork alone is worth the msrp price increase between the two and that's not counting the rest of the parts.

i like a lot of the 2014 colors more honestly, superfly 6 is pretty sick though. if i hadn't gotten a really good deal on a niner emd last week for a winter hardtail i'd be getting the SF6

alloy FS superfly is now on 12x142, can't remember if it was in 2014, know it wasn't in 2013

x-cal 8 at least still looks fairly decent, to the guy asking about x-cals, don't get a 7, get the 8, the 8 has deore level sram x5 gear and a 32mm fork. last year the x-cal 8 was on sale for 849-899 a lot.

Yeah I know, but you might run into a 2014 Superfly this weekend at 35% off. Check all the dealers within driving distance.

Is it true that they axed the Stache 6, Remedy 7, and the Gary Fisher name?

I can tell you that they did axe the Stache 6. I saw they made a lot of changes to the components on their 2015 line up of bikes. I have a 2014 Stache 8, and wouldn't change it for the 2015 at all.

I also noticed they got rid of the X-Cal 4 and 5 but have more Marlin models. You are right, some of those "new" colors are a little odd

Already ordered an XCal 8. Not a lot near me, have to go pretty far to find other dealers.

I ask about the frame because the 2015 uses 650b wheels and was wondering if theoretically when I upgrade the wheelset if I could interchange 650b.

I was thinking they would have put a tapered head tube on the new X-Cals but , it didn't happen. I do like the new colors for 2015 on most of the bikes.

Looks like the 650b wheels are only on the two smaller frame sizes, 29" on the larger sizes. My guess is you would want/need to maintain the wheel size that comes on the bike.

I actually like the new colors overall as well. The two bikes on my radar are the Superfly 9.6 and the Stache 7.
