How do you adjust the "point of contact" on the Tektro brake levers? One lever closes in further than the other, I like for my levers to close the same.

You might want to try posting this question in the "Brake Time" forum.

    ^tis true.

But to answer your question. You can't. The HDC300 is a very(and I emphasize VERY) low end brake. The only thing you can (just barely) do is bleed them. You won't get an adjustable point of contact until you get into high end SRAM/Shimano hydros. My HDC300s lasted 150 miles before the seals blew. I'd consider an upgrade if you're not satisfied with them.

If the hydraulic aspect doesn't matter to you, then a set of BB7's will last a lifetime, are easy as cake to set up, and require almost zero maintenance and no special tools. Bout $120 for the set. You'll need new levers though.

As for hydraulics, almost anything SRAM or shimano will be better. I have the Deores and love em. Those can be found for about $115 for the set, I believe Elixir 1's can be had for about $110 a set, but I'm not a huge fan of low end elixirs...

Thanks, once I get a few more dollars, I'll pick up a pair. Awesome.
