Specialized teamed up with Sram to produce a 29er specific derailleur with a view to making the CS far shorter than they usually are.
Specialized Enduro 29 has 430mm of CS and is just 13mm longer than its 26 brethren.
How about introducing this kind of equipment into other manufacturers' frames, which up to this time are designed with 26specific derailleurs.
This derailleur is not yet patented by Specialized so any 29er producer might and actually should look into it. It would enable also those shorter naysayers that it was the frame design not the wheels, which made their demo ride awful.
Would you stay with traditional derailleurs and long CS or new one with short CS?
