just bought a new scalpel 3 alloy, i took it for a short ride and it is an amazing ride, the rear suspension is there when you need it and doesnt hinder climbing at all. the lefty fork is really smooth but keep the pressure a bit higher if you dont like a lot of travel. i paid 3000 for the bike, tubless tires (well just sealant and stems), a new seat, new grips, and a multi tool (needed to get the front tire off).

on the downside the avid elixir 5 brakes suck and the sram shifters arent great. the X9 RD seems good but based on other reviews i may upgrade that as well.

does anyone else have a similar bike that theyve done upgrades on that can offer advice, and maybe point out some other trouble areas, i want to make it reliable so it doesnt leave me stranded somewhere between fruita and moab or telluride and moab, thatd be a long walk.

ill be riding a lot this weekend so ill post some more reviews in a few days on how it handles the sedona singletrack
