Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! RIP9 or JET9....Alloy

Anyone do a side by side ride of the new rip9 & jet9 yet? Wondering if I picked the wrong niner?

Well, which one did you pick? Also, it depends on your riding style to say which Niner is the "wrong" on for you.

The Rip 9 has 125mm of suspension travel, and the Jet 9 has 100mm of suspension travel. If you ride over small jumps and ride on technical trails, the Rip is better. If you ride on XC trails that are a bit smoother and less technical, but fast, then the Jet is better. Anyway, if you already bought the bike it is a little late to decide which one is better.

the rip9 feels a bit slow to me. i don't feel like the jet9 has that much less suspension. in fact it feels like it has more than it does.

i wind up riding my jet9 on all trails. the quicker response makes it more fun and more confident inspiring than the rip9.

if you need/want more suspension get the wfo. seriously.

make sure your matching a 100-120mm fork for the new frame. remember the front fork does most of the work on rough trails. the frame suspension comes more into play on big drops or jumps. the frame difference in suspension is not enough to really notice. what you will notice is the geometry. and thats were the jet9 shines.
