    Raleigh talus sport 29

I have a raleigh talus sport 29 with a rock shox gold recon xt front shock is this bike worth upgrading or am I going to be wasting my money by slowly upgrading this bike?

If you go the upgrade route--
You have a good fork, so-
The first major upgrade would be a stiffer lighter wheelset. Once you get that it can go on to your next bike as long as it has hubs with changeable endcaps. When you look at new bike specs a good set of wheels only comes on the highest spec'ed models.
You can collect some upgrade components like SLX/XT brakes Again these could go on another bike. It comes down to getting deals over time and spreading the expense over time. And you will be riding and developing your skills. After a while you may have the parts for a build with just a frame buy plus some experience to choose a specific geo and handling type of frame. So the upgrades aren't lost money and they also will get your bike weight down. Once it hits 26lbs. you may find it unnecessary to change.

If you ride what you have and save for another bike--
You have a good fork so maybe some lighter faster rolling tires.
And hit the demo days in your area for new bike ideas.

Any suggestions on a decent set of tires that won't break the bank?

Nobby Nic Performance front 20psi. This is directional. Mount it backwards so the shoulder knobs are angled to grip.

    Racing Ralph Performance rear 25psi

I run these with 26x2.1-2.5 tubes.
