i am posting this in terms of spec comparison. Let say the frames are the exact frame. The only differences are the components. Which bike would you choose for the best fork and drive train offering? male or female responses accepted. Gender is irrelevant for this thread.

    thanks,

The tango has a SLIGHTLY better fork, BUT, its only 80mm, the Talon is 100mm.
The Talon has a better drivetrain. Here's how drivetrain components go:
Shimano: Alivio/Acera, Deore, SLX, Deore XT, etc
    SRAM: X3/X4, X5, X7, X9, etc

Talon has X5 shifters > Tango Alivio shifters.
Talon X7 derraileurs > Tango front alivio, rear deore.

    Tango is a 3x9, Talon is 3x10.

    Not sure about breaks.

I'd probably go with the Talon, not sure if the Tango fork is that much better, and you lose 20mm of travel.

hey thank you. That was the route I was leaning towards also. Not sure about the fork difference. If there is not much difference then I will def. tell her to get the talon.

The Trek Cali S is a good additional option. It has slacker geo than the Talon and the next step slightly better fork. She should ride both to see if one fits her riding style better.
