Niner Flat Top 9 bar for DH

    Hi Guys,
some pal uses Niner Flat Top 9 bar for his brand new Giant Glory DH bike.
    http://store.ninerbikes.com/Componen...ee-sweep-Black
I wonder, if is strong and stiff enough for DH.
Niner web site says it's 260g. Is this really so?
    I don't huck and drop.
I need lightweight flat bar for my Glory.

    Thanks in advance for advices.

    PS. crosspost from RM

Not sure about the Niner...though at 260g you would think it would be strong. The Sunline V1 is another to look at and it is PLENTY strong.

Sunline V1 Flatbar is ca. 300g (claimed) at full, 762mm, lenght. Price is resonable.
EDGE is a bit too narrow. I'm on FSA Gravity Light Carbon 710mm, right now. And it seems proper lenght. So, Going back, to shoter bar doesn't make sense, IMO. Moreover, EDGE bar is 168$ in States. In Europe would probably by 168eur :|

Are you sure you're looking at the right bar? Th Mt Sweep is the exact same bar as the gravity carbon...just without any rise. I know...I rode the gravity carbon bars for the last 5+ years & recently just grabbed the new Mt Sweep bar & it is identical in every way, save rise.

    FYI...gravity carbon is 700mm wide.

    I've got FSA Gravity Carbon and it's 31.8 x 25mm rise x 710mm width.
I want light flat bar, not necessarily carbon.
Niner looks good and it's cheap. EDGE

    is too expensive for me.

As I said on Ridemonkey - get the FSA Gravity 777 bar and cut it to your desired length. Blammo - problem solved!

I've used the Niner Flat bar for a year without issues in technical terrain.

    Downhilling it ain't though. YMMV.

I also use Gravity carbon on another bike and go back and forth between the bars without issues.
