Newbie looking for experience people advice...

Hi guys. I'm a newbie in mountain bike world.

I'm looking to buy my first mountain bike.
I would like to do all kind of trails. Not in extreme way.
(Well, maybe I will develop a strong passion...)

I red a lot of forums and reviews in the last few days.
I'm more mixed up than before!?!
There's a lot to know and understand.
Why not asking to experience people?

Thus today I decide to go at some LBS and have a better feel of the bikes and look at the prices.
I got a deal for a RM Element 930 2013. 2K$. (which is at top of my budget)
I found some good reviews on the 950 and 970. It looks to be a good all rounded mountain bike.

I would like to know your humble opinion on this bike at that price. Or maybe a better option...

    Thanks for your time!

First, that's a very good price. If it fits you correctly and your use is appropriate for the bike (which is general XC and trail use), it would make an excellent first bike that you can grow with for a long time.
Rocky Mountains in general are very good learning bikes. They have low stand-over heights and well balanced handling. The 930's frame is a high grade of aluminum, which is again the best choice for learning (since you will wreck occasionally). Lastly the parts kit is well spec'ed so that you won't have to do much more than buy some pedals, a helmet, and clothes.

    Good choice all round.

Sounds like an excellent choice for your 1st bike. The price is also right!

    I also found a Trek EX7 29 2014... Also for a pretty good price... but... I can't go higher than 2k... Can I?... Must resist...... :-)

Thank you very much, your answers give me the "little kick" I needed to pull the trigger... So, first hour tomorrow morning I will close the deal on the RM!

    Woohoo!!!

The RM you've found is a great choice and if indeed your passion does grow the 930 is perfect for upgrading! Go for it!
This may be a total waste of time but I can't help but think that you might amount to something someday.
