New True Fab Bike Pr0n (True Fabrication Bicycles, Austin, Texas)

As I understand it, this is the last of the BBQ bikes. I ordered this on some date in July 2007! I kept telling Cody that I wanted the lessons learned bikes, and I was always unsure of the geometry or setup I would run. After spending a week on the Rat Rod I figured the geometry couldn't get any better than that.

The work Cody, Cole, and Clark are doing at a small shop here in Austin is amazing, I highly encourage anyone who's looking for a new bike to give them a shot. You won't find a better custom bike at their prices they're doing it for.

Lastly, on the color and paint, I really have to say that the pictures do not do this frame justice, it came out absolutely stunning. At night it looks black, when the sun hits it depending on the angle it could be any array of colors. Last good thing is that it's a one of a kind, the powder guy won't be turning any more of these out.

Support True Fab, a great group of frame builders, and your local bike shops.

This bike will be in Melbourne soon though, as I am moving there July 1st. Some of you know Cody from Hammerhead Bicycles, if you don't please familiarize with yourself with their shop and story. www.hammerheadbicycles.com www.truefabricationbicycles.com

I posted a bunch of pictures so you could get an idea of how the color changes based on angle.

This bike will be built as a 29er SS w/ rigid fork, although with the Paragon dropouts an RD could be run and it is lugged for a F/R derailleur.

The build didn't take that long. I purposely asked to slipped down the list because I wasn't sure of the kind of bike I wanted. After spending some time on the owner's bike figured out the geometry I really was after. I've gotten a lot of new bikes in the past, this one is by far the best! A custom bike from concept to delivery is a fun process. The time it took was due to me, not them.

They do great work. You'll love it. Hurry up and pick your hubs and I'll get to work on building you the strongest most BA wheelset you've ever owned (well besides the other BA wheelset I already built you).

Sweet bike, been thinking about buying a True Fabrication bike for some months. Do you know if you can test ride any of there bikes? They mention the cost of a frame to be around $1175. Just curious if you had to pay extra $$ for the paint job? How long did you have to wait once your ordered the bike? I live in San Marcos and would love to test ride their bikes.

Give Cody a call, he's the designer of the frames, he can talk you through the whole process. I'm also quite sure he can arrange a spin on a couple different TF bikes.

Yes, love the paint job! What do you call that colour? Is that a prismatic finish?
Better to have and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Beautiful bike, the paint and small details like the lugs around the water bottle mounts are sweet!

Question for frame builder: Is there an advantage to not having the chainstays join into the seat tube at the same place as the top tube?

Question to the OP: Did you drill holes in your brake levers?

That turned out awesome, great persistence and follow through. My '03 Fisher Tam 29er was that same type green-brown flip-flop color.

1st ride.. It's as good as the True Fab Rat Rod it was modeled after! Full custom is the only way to go, you can't imagine how good this bike rides and handles.

Update... the bike rides absolutely amazing! I race a Racer X 29er, the handling on the Titus is crisp and excellent, this bike actually takes it up a notch. My hat's off to the True Fab guys, this bike is awesome!
