Yeah, I dig some of the bling, but I question if the value is still there.

WTF? $1999 for the Stealth 4.0 which has a Tora TK and Deore components? Why not just get a donor bike from BD with a Reba and XTR parts, then buy a $1k frame? On the plus side, the Stan's wheelset and tires are nice...

Better Choice IMHO: Motobecane Fly Titanium 29er for $2099
Reba, SRAM X0 2x10, Avid Elixir CR

Or Access XCL 9.9 for $1799
Pretty much the same as above but with SRAM X9.

No joke. They are now making an off-brand aluminum HT that is sharing its pricepoint with the Salsa Spearfish and more expensive than the El Mariachi. I can't see the value there either. Possibly with the Stealth, but not the Prowler.

Let the discounting begin! Well, once these new bikes are no longer "Out Of Stock" at least.

So the 9.5, 9.7 and 9.9 are no more but Performance does list a single XCL 29er model for 2011 for $899 with the same spec as last year’s $699 bike (which I bought in May 2010 when it was still only $599).

And, erm, are those racing tires or bike path tires on the new models?

    2011 Access Prowler 29er: $1,500 - $2,000

    2011 Access Stealth Carbon 29er: $2,000 - $3,500

Ditch these ridiculous builds and offer the frame only.

    stealth 4.0

$2000 for Tora and Deore???? I wouldnt pay any more than 1,200 for that bike and thats only because of the carbon frame...

Just about every big brand has better value in their $2k price point 29ers...

Alright boys and girls, the Powler's frame look about 99% like my Fuji Tahoe 29er.

I can't see the fold line on the seat stay, but other than that, it looks like it even down to the headtube.

I would probably feel the same way. . . . if I cared.

And from what I see on the site today, I don't since they apparently will no longer be selling anything larger than an "XL"

They may as well be dead to me.

You're right. They're built in the same factory, same jigs (alu)/molds (carb). Top Key is the manufacturer, if I remember correctly.

Don't get me wrong, I bought an XCL 9.7 a couple of months ago, and after 10% back from being a Performance Club member and $215 back from their price matching policy, I got a smoking deal on a decently equipped bike and a good value. I hope they start the perpetual "sale" soon or these things are ridiculously overpriced.

This colorway looks like a really lame attempt to copy the red and white fisher model from a year or two ago.

I'm sure these will be heavily discounted soon.

Really wish they take out the name "Access".

Change it to something else like Scattante.

Is kind of like those UK frames with names like "Ghost" or "Cube".

    Leaves little for the imagination.

These bikes seem WAAAAY overpriced. My first Access 29'er was a bargain, got the full XTR bling 9.9 with XTR and C29ssmax's for $1299 OTD. A year later it was stolen, and to have the same quality bike in April 2010 I had to buy a BikesDirect Donor and an Access frame. Fast forward another year, and I couldn't buy the same quality from Performance for less than $3k? Come on!

However, I have notice that BikesDirect donor bikes are getting way more expensive also... that same donor bike from BD today would cost me $1599 instead of $999

Strange to me that they would even offer a carbon frame bike with a Tora TK fork (I really see this fork as nothing more than a 32mm Dart):

BTW, some of the Prowler models are now listed as 'in stock'.
