Nice. I think anything 6.5 pounds for a 120mm+ trail bike is fine. A sub 5 pound trail bike would scare me honestly I think. I'd rather have way better stiffness then 300-400 grams lighter frame weight.

Its hard to associate weight with stiffness now-a-days especially with carbon. I'd still have a great deal of trust in that frame a far as stiffness goes even if it was sub 5lb. It has a tapered headtube, oversized downtube, big bottom bracket and 12x142 rear axle which all greatly add to the overall frame stiffness when assembled. Can't have such conventional wisdom these days.
Great looking frame BTW!
I just don't like the 71deg HT and 18.2 CS, I'd just rather the bike be more nimble in the rear. But I'm sure it will be a fantastic riding bike for ya!

I respectfully disagree. If you add 300 grams more carbon fiber to your Tallboy in the "proper" spots it's going to be a better riding, more fun bike when the going gets rough. YMMV.

I have to respectfully disagree there as well. My tallboy does everything I need it to do. 300g more is just going to add weight, nothing more. I don't get out of Florida that often, but everything within my ability level pretty dang well..even when I took it out to Arizona: Everything I had time to ride in Flagstaff, most of Sedona, S. Mountain in Phoenix, and Tuscon..Milagrosa gave me problems because I just didn't have the stones to descend down into the creek bed after the Tequila tree. My "tour guide" at the time even walked his bike down...so i didn't feel so bad. It's handled everything all the trails I rode around N. Texas, Syllamo and Womble Trail in Ark, Dupont and Tsali in NC, Fredrick's Watershed and Potapsco among other trails in Maryland. Sure there is some silky smooth singletrack in there, but there was nothing kind out in Arizona, N. Texas and Arkansas..and some descent technical at Fredrick's Watershed.
Now that I think about it, the bike has actually been ridden in quite a lot of different terrain...
So what "proper" spots are you speaking of for XC bike that I will expose the tallboy's shortcomings?

Here it is mine. Never owned an Ellsworth before. I have only 8 miles on it (on a night riding). The bike pedals really well, and is NIMBLE, I have it with a 100mm fork, but I may change it to 120mm down the road, I think will handle more the way I like, not sure yet. I'll see if I get used to this 26-like nimblenes
It weighs 26.5 pouns as it looks, small, with the drooper, pedals and water cage.
Its a X9 group, with X0 rear der and Race Face cranks, porky Conti tires, crest wheels, CB candy 3 pedals and CB 11 flat bar 685mm

Hey...my Evolve Carbon is coming in this week...already ordered and received my XX1 kit as well, but I forgot to specify Qfactor and was going to go 168Q just to play it safe (obviously fits more frames and I buy a lot of different bikes/frames) and they sent a 156Q crank. My question, is that a good fit on the Evolve C...? Is that what you're using or did you go with the 168Q...?
