They look great! I own an HX1. Nice riding bike. However, I would suggest reading some of the threads on the Chumba forum before buying one.

As the others have said, not the type of company I'd want to spend my money with.

As to not having a local dealer, that makes t hard for test rides, but as to purchasing, there's loads of places that'll ship international. If you're interested in steel Canfield also does the Nimble9, you can deal with them directly and they ship international, as is the same with Banshee if there's no local distributor/dealer near you - the Paradox is everything everyone says it is, and now even more with the revisions.

    price is an issue

Yeah these are all good options, just the chumba is really good price, and that is a bog thing for me right now, apart from the CS i do seem to find that the frames themselves are not all that bad. Thankfully i'm not hard on bikes even thought i'm no lightweight.

And idea on the shipped to Oz price on a Cranfeild (I'm actually a little scared to ask, when you consider the price for a Niner frame out here is over 2x that of the US prices!)

dude save yourself the hassle, avoid chumba regardless of price. you'll have a hard time even getting a replacement hanger from them. there are a lot of great bikes out there, keep looking

Following on from OP's comments a lot of the great frames that are out there are not readily available (yet) outside of USA - certainly not for a reasonable price. Also, as mentioned, a lot of frames are not available separately, only as completes.

    On-one stock On-one.

CRC stock Lynskey (very expensive) and Pace. Tomac 29er frames seem to have disappeared.

    Specialized 29er frames- not available.
Giant 29er frames - not available.
Scott - a few are now.
Kona - most frame snot available - not even all completes - e.g. Big Unit not.

Well locally there's Barspin Imports who unfortunately are shutting down, so contact them and see what they have left in stock, might get a killer deal on a Paradox. Check their FB page for info https://www.facebook.com/pages/Barsp...ts/66424178340
