    New 2012/2013 Trek Roscoe 29er

Snap shop of the catalog at the Trek Show showing the Roscoe 29er, two versions the elite and standard. Unfortunately sources say not going to production for 2012, but for 2013. Likely 130/140mm of front and rear travel. Other photo is a crappy cell phone shot of a near final prototype.

Not in 2012? Seems kinda odd to have it in a catalog WITH spec parts that may not even be around in 2013.

    Interesting.

also, anyone see the HT angle and bb height on the new rumblefish? i cell phone photo of the geo page (with the roscoe) would be amazing.

Looks like the Elite pictured above is sporting the new 140 34mm Float or Talas (internally adjustable travel between 140mm and 60mm).

Any word on when these forks will hit the street?

edit: The fork is out now. $970 for the Float. $1030 for the Talas. IMHO retail MSRP should be about $100-200 less. Got to pay to play I guess. Factor that in on the cost of a complete bike and it's going to be well north of 4k.

Thats what happens when you chance production and send the photos off to the printer. Parts may change for 2013, or it could be a mid-season 2012/early 2013 release if the parts (ie forks) have already been ordered. Tough to say.

I'm very curious as to what the pricing on these will be and how it will compare to the Stumpjumper FSR.

The last photo of the white bike seems to have the drivetrain inverted. ??????

It does appear that way... The photo must be mirrored because otherwise that would make no sense.

Agreed, and there are a ton of them. Enough, that maybe it's time to demo a few. 2013 is not going to cut it.

I really really like my Fisher 29ers and G2, but this is probably a strong indication I should be packing a Lunchbox or something. My AM lifestyle has been on hold long enough.

Probably not very well, considering the Sjumper FSR is available. Sorry, a little bitter.

Tried my brother-in-law's Stumpjumper Expert FSR and the thing was stellar.

TREK introduces yet ANOTHER new standard !

Just when we're all coming to terms with tapered headtubes and BB-95, Trek rolls out yet another new standard! So will my existing RH drive cranks still work with Trek's inverted drivetrain standard? And will I have to pedal backwards?

My guess as well. If you look closely at the "TREK" writing on the other bike in the photo, it is backwards.

If the photo is mirrored is their vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road?

the way the shock is mounted is very visually unappealing but other wise it looks cool.

    They have several FS 29ers.

I've been told the Roscoe will be shipping before 2012. Look for it soon.

hate to reserect an old thread, but does anyone have any updates on the Roscoe 29? I asked a dealer rep about a month ago if he had any details. He could only confirm that it was supposed to be available this spring but he had not heard of anything lately.

    Thanks for the link Jenda.

Doesn't that look like a carbon frame to you guys? If so, SC may get some competition on the light LT category.

That guy was rippin' it. They purposly didn't show his face.
