lol more pictures Adrian....I don't want to be creepy and hunt you down and take some myself with my iPhone.. I am trying to get my girl pumped up about her new bike for Fat Tire Fest!
Jk, take your time bro, just excited...probably more so than her :/
I am estimating sub 25 with a reba, American Classics, Ikons tubeles, X9 2x10 and carbon everywhere else.

I have attached a few more photos below. Tomorrow I expect to get the bike out and actually ride it.
The rear wheel is actually not the one I would normally use, I have a wheel that is DT Swiss with Stan's Crest also and it is more in line with the color scheme on the bike.
The gold accent on the stem is going to be red, I'm waiting for Crank Bros to bring out their color matching kit for the stems which I am told will be next month.
Oh and I weighed the bike, 23.2 pounds! Better than I expected.
Enjoy, and it sounds like you are very good to your wife!!
Looks great man! I wish I had a lefty to throw on it for her. I am sure you already realize what kind of conversation pieces it is!
I hope it rides great, I am sure it will. I think Niner is going to be in Tampa next weekend for Fat Tire Fest (we'll be there). They are in Ocala, FL this weekend.
BTW...she's not my wife yet, but she is the love of my life. There is talk about marriage though. Its hard to let go of a fit girl that like beer and wings, going camping, and is faster in the trails than more than half of the guys down here!

Thanks for the compliment.
I had the 2011 EMD in moon dust gray and just sold it to pay for this frame.
I rode this new frame with a rigid fork last weekend so it was hard to gauge how it rode. My instincts tell me that it should flex less than the 2011 model because of the hydroforming etc.
Personally I just really liked the color, the hydroformed tubing and the fact that I could transfer all my existing parts over.
It's awesome that you have a girlfriend that likes to ride. Definitely keep her!
I have yet to get to a Niner demo day, I had a chance to ride a RDO - those things are just amazingly smooth but have no pedal bob at all.
I'd be interested to see pics when you build your gf's bike up.

Nice! I had a lefty on my 2011 air9 and loved it, wish I wouldn't have sold it
Im on the red version of the new emd 9, the pics are on here but I've changed the wheels and seatpost since then. I'll post more pics when I get on the computer.
I just completed my build and I think it looks great.
Adrian.
It looks good in your pics for sure
The day I looked at it at the shop I had a new air 9 black side by side and the emd just looked kinda cheap in comparison, I also took my badge off and sanded it down to give it the brushed look like the old badges.
Bike weight is 24.3 not bad considering my wheelset is kinda burly.
Running xt dyna sys 1x10 setup, mrp chain guide
Reba sl 29 no decals
Sun ringle wheelset x9 rear hub, sun ringle front hub, bontrager tubeless tires
Thomson seatpost stock collar, specialized phenom saddle
Race x lite big sweep bars with race x lite stem, bolt on grips
Elixir slc carbon brakes
That's a nice setup, I was running Sun Ringle wheels while I had the rigid fork on there, theyre the black flag pros. I basically got those early for next years project; I'm going to build up a Jet 9 RDO in licorice. At least that's the goal.
I'm running much the same front crank as you with a black MRP chain keeper. They work well.
It looks like you may want to shorten your chain though.
I saw that there are posts with both the 2011 and 2012 versions of the EMD. I was wondering if it is worth the extra $250 for the 2012 model since jenson is selling them for $300(I am planning on buying the frame first and adding parts as I get the money). The differences I saw were the tapered head tube and frame tubing. I will be commuting 1-2 miles everyday and riding trails 1-2 times a week. I super excited to build this bike and would appreciate some insight from someone who has owned the older version and recently upgraded to the newer version or just owners of the EMD.

If you are on a budget I'd say go for the 2011 frame - 300 bucks is a screaming deal.
Poster #70 actually got his 2012 for the 2011 closeout deal since an online retailer ran out. I got the 2011 for $299 as well.. I just got it built up and would say it is definitely worth it... they even threw in a small bottle of touch up paint, how can you go wrong?
