Built my 2012 up a few weeks ago... my favorite bike so far. Took advantage of the cheep prices on huck n' roll. Used some old parts from another bike and some new parts. Will post pictures as soon as it will let me.

TEAJ Cycling Group BUYS VASSAGO CYCLES

PHOENIX, AZ June 14 2012 11:00 AM MT— TEAJ Cycling Group acquired Vassago Cycles, a Boutique Manufacturer of 29er Steel and Titanium Bicycle Frames. The company will re-launch early 2013 under new ownership and management.

“As riders and racers, we wanted to see Vassago continue as an independent brand providing the high performance, value-oriented frames that the company has been known for,” said Tom Ament, former factory racer and team captain of Vassago. “The new ownership and transition of the company will allow Vassago to expand the current product lineup while focusing on providing an outstanding level of service and support to our dealers and customers."

Founded in 2005, Vassago Cycles remains one of the most established 29er brands in the market place today. For questions, dealer inquiries, additional interviews, or information, visit Bikes are effin cool - Homey or email info@vassagocycles.com.

Anybody put 650b's on a Jabber? Just wondering if there are any pictures. Got a low BB with 29's and would like to see a finished attempt at it if possible.

    Hi Guys,

Just acquired an Army Green Jabberwocky frame, and now I'm trying to source an ODIS fork. Not many around, is there!

If you have one kicking around in your garage doing nothing, please get in touch. If it's in Army Green, even better!

    Thanks,

Good luck finding one. The Salsa Cro Moto Grande is a good option for the Jabber if you can't find an ODIS.

Where'd you end up finding an Army Green Jabber. Pretty rare these days.

I think a black rigid fork would go well with that color frame too. I did sell off my ODIS earlier this year, only because I preferred a White Brothers carbon. Let me know if you're interested in that route, but it certainly won't be in the price range of the ODIS or Salsa as mentioned above.

Perhaps the "New Vassago", might have something in store for rigid forks, too. Only time will tell, but I'm hoping sooner rather than later. Definitely interested on what may be around the corner.

Bought the frame of a guy in these forums.

I've been in contact with Vassago today, and they have in stock ODIS Mojave forks for $125 shipped. They will have more forks in stock mid-December, I am told, in black and Mojave, but no green.

I've just sunk a small fortune into a 2011 EMD build, and the Jabba is for me to find out what the rigid SS fuss is all about, so I'm in no hurry to complete the build. Enjoying the EMD waaaaay too much!!

Interesting, I think I was trying to get the same frame but the seller told me he was selling locally. Are you on the east coast too?

Looks like we're in a similar boat. I have a 2011 EMD too, but set up as SS wand rigid Niner Carbon fork. Loving it, but thinking about trying out steel again, including steel fork.

Just built this one up in Mohave. I am super stoked on how this bike handles. For those who say 29's "still don't turn like my 26" that is because it is not a 26 inch bike. It works well for me. I had a Rig a few years ago, and a well timed trade came along with a Hi Fi 26 bike-my first FS bike. Got rid of that after a year and ride this now. I love the steel feel.

what size fork on a jabber?

Their new site says an 80mm fork is optimal, but 100mm will do..........anyone have one with 100mm fork? Thoughts/opinions?? Should I go with the Bander instead??

I ride rigid only, but if I remember correctly aren't all/most suspension 80mm forks, convertible to 100mm or more via spacers? You could just experiment yourself and determine what works best for you.

The xfusion is travel adjustable from 80 to 120 internally. I am set at 80 and like the handling. I would think that the frame length would make the steering to slow above that

Sent an email to Vassago about a month ago asking about if they will bring back the army green Jabber and it sounds like they will! I really liked that color. So maybe the green forks will be available also.

I spoke with Tom a couple of weeks ago and back he told me that it was their intention to produce the fork in black and mojave only. He knows I'm after a green one, so if they ever produce one, I'm sure he'll be in touch.

i tried hard to get one about a year ago. i even called all the distributor's on their old website to see if anyone had one laying around. i found one shop in AZ but they didn't want to separate it from the frame. ended up with salsa cro moto grande.

Bye bye EMD. Hello Jabber (again). I sold my '11 black Jabber and after trying out a few different frames, I knew I had to get one back again. When I saw this new old stock black with the smoked out lettering, I knew I had to pull the trigger. Figured it'll get me by until the new Vassago comes out with a new Jabber, or the new TI or Steel bikes end up being worthwhile.

Might go with a black Odis (when they come out) and also a WI ENO crankset. For now, the WB and the Stylo have been great.

Figured it'll get me by until the new Vassago comes out with a new Jabber, or the new TI or Steel bikes end up being worthwhile.

Might go with a black Odis (when they come out) and also a WI ENO crankset. For now, the WB and the Stylo have been great.
Nice. Where did you get the frame? FYI don't bother with the ENO cranks. The Stylo is a thousand time stiffer. I had an ENO crankset, but ditched it for a external BB crank.

Thanks. I also have a '12 XT crankset lying around from another ditched build, that I thought about using as well. Good to know about the ENO cranks, which is interesting, because they're supposed to be a SS specific crankset.

Alex from the The Hub Bicycle Co. hooked me up. He replied to my wanted ad, and it all worked out. I needed a 16", so not sure if he has other sizes left. Definitely a rare find though, so good luck. Who knows, maybe they'll re-release new colors on the Jabbers.
