You have to try them and the next size larger. I'm 5'10" and shrinking (age). I've tested several Trek's this season incl trail time. 18.5 was definitely right for me.

The "great price" becomes a terrible price if the bike is not a good fit and requiring modifications like longer stem and set back seat. You lose even more if modifications like that harm the handling of the bike.

Please trust my advice on how the fit is so important. One of my bikes has very entry level parts and one has high end parts. The Deore or less and heavier bike mean nothing when I ride because that bike is such a perfect fit. It lets me do everything with comfort and control whether that's just time on the bike or going at trail features.

Get what fits best. Delay the gratification of a purchase and get the fit and right bike sorted out before the big expense.

    How long are your legs?
If you have an actual inseam of around 32" it could work fine. Use a book against the wall and measure up.

I'd go ride the Superfly. You can create more cockpit room with wider bars and a setback post and seat rail adjustment. Stem can also be changed. All these are if you are close only.

Great thanks for the info ... One more thing ..I just came back form the bike shop and tested a new 2014 cannondale sl 29 3 that is going for 899$ a new 2013 trek cobia 29er 999$ and a very lightly used almost mint condition 2013 trek superfly Al hardtail 999$ .. All of the 3 fit really well ...Considering you're experience and expertise which whould be the best quality and component wise ? Thanks

    I don't like Cannondale's steep 71* head tube angle.
The Superfly Al is my choice.

If it's at a shop let them do a chain stretch check you can see.

I am biased towards the Superfly Al. I have had mine for over a year now and it's a good bike. I bought mine last June for $1300 used but it should have been considered new as good as it looked. I would definitely go for it if it fits good and you like it.
