26.9 lbs before I switched the rear rim and tire from a Crest/Racing Ralph to a Flow/CG XC 29. So, now it's more than 26.9.

    Here is mine.

21.15 lbs as pictured. I have since went to a little heavier Ti seatpost and different saddle. I am guessing 21.5 lbs now.

25.5ish SIR 9 with steel rigid fork and 1x10 gearing. No parts particularly light or heavy. Wide WTB tires. Add the saddle bag and it's over 26.

For comparison, 6" f/s 26er with drop post ~32 lbs.

Yes, it is a singlespeed! Carbon fork, XX brakes, Thompson seatpost and stem, NINER carbon bars. It rides like a dream! It actually comes in a hair lighter than my Tarmac road bike.

curious about your rovals... are you using a spacer kit for the SS on a normal cassette hub, or do they offer a ss hub? thanks!

I'm not sure that a Slingshot frame will ever be part of a "lightest ever" conversation. I think my early BigShot frame (serial #1) is probably around 5 lbs, and I haven't weighed the steel fork yet - but it feels pretty beefy.

As pictured, it weights 45 pounds.......

with just an empty frame bag, speedometer, and head light it weights 31 pounds. without that stuff it would probably be right around 30.
    18" Jabberwocky 2x9 gearing
Manitou Tower Pro 80mm qr fork
    Thudbuster
    Brooks B17
Flow rims, Wheelsmith butted spokes and alloy nips, 240s rear hub (36 pt) DMR Revolver front hub
WWLT front tire, Nanoraptor rear tire, stans juice
    BB7 brakes 185 F, 160 R
Shimano Hone Cranks w/ Enduro bearings, Actiontec 20t cog and Blackspire 34t cog
Sram cheapie 11-34 9 speed cassette
    X5 9 speed trigger shifters
    X9 short cage rear derailleur
    old school XT front derailleur
    Eleven81 stem 80mm 17 degree rise
    Easton Monkey bars
    old repaired L bar ends
    Cane Creek S-3 headset.
    Wellgo magnesium platform pedals

not too much weight could be dropped without major $$$$, a new crank for $200 + would save 4 ounces, Arch rims would save 4 oz, a bar switch could save 2-4 oz, a front tire switch would drop an easy 8 oz, I have a lighter cassette to put on once this one dies,
but I'm not giving up the front shock or thudbuster (have an ODIS fork and Thompson post though), or the Brooks saddle. That's where the big weight kickers are....
ODIS fork saves 1.4 lb over Manitou squishy fork already have
Thompson post saves 0.7 lb over thudbuster already have
Arch rims save 0.25 lb $$$
Aerozine or Middleburn cranks save 0.25 lb $$$
lighter front tire saves 0.5 lb $$
non Brooks saddle saves 0.5 lb have
lighter cassette saves 0.125 lb have

net savings possible: 3.725 pounds for a lighter bike weight of 27.275 with frame pack, light, and speedometer (and pedals......)
the expensive buys (rims and cranks) save a total 0.5 lb, the other stuff I'm not willing to give up on rough rides - squishy fork and post, Brooks saddle, tough tires.

Yeah, that's pretty close to my road bike as well. Or perhaps more accurately my road bike is pretty close to that, because it's a bit above 18! I'd love to give a bike like that a ride.

Im running the stans arch rims that were hand built with DT spokes. With over 250 miles logged on the bike so far, the wheels look like the day I took them out of the package and checked the true.

Mine weighs 24 pounds even. I have all carbon fiber X0 components on it. Brakes are Avid Elixir carbon fiber ones as well.

I need to upgrade the wheelset to carbon and probably the crankset with some Carbon XX ones.

2012 Trek Marlin, the only change I've made is the fork. It went from 35lbs to 31lbs. I can't believe the factory fork weighed 7lbs!

I just realized that I really don't like how my bike looks in pictures. It looks awesome in person/bike but just doesn't have the same punch in pics.

Niner Air 9 RDO, 20 lbs even. Its a real mountain bike with gears and front squish. It doesn't look like a 29er because the frame is an extra large. This bike is heaps of fun but I frequently get passed by guys (and girls) riding bikes that are 10+ pounds heavier, just saying that because you shouldn't overtrain on bike weight.

Hopefully a final fighting weight of around 24-25 lbs once I get some proper lightweight wheels and tires on it.
Out of curiosity. WHAT IS THAT? How much do you weigh? What kind of terrain do you ride? Am I seeing that correctly, a steel cable completing the A frame? Is this a folding bike?

Thanks for the info! Sounds like a damn good set up for me. How do you like the Chinese carbon wheelsets? Are they reliable and strong for everyday use?

ZTR Race rear wheel, Crest Front

    Mint ride.! love it.

Could knock off some weight with lighter seat, but love the Gel seat, and will suck up the 150gm weight penalty.

A bit too much right now. Mostly stock '12 Jamis Dragon Sport, 17". According to the catalog 31lbs.

It does seem to ride lighter than that, but some weight loss is in its near future.

Agreed! It's hard to get a somewhat light bike for those of us who ride XL or larger frames.

My 2012 Superfly 100 Elite weighs about 26.2 lbs with pedals. To lose about 2 lbs overall I would have to spend roughly $1,000.
I weigh 180 lbs at 6'0". To lose 2 lbs I would have to watch what I eat for a couple of weeks and ride more. In terms of dollars I would save about 180 cents a day.

Seems like an easy choice, until 3:00 in the afternoon comes around and I'm hungry

Edit: I didn't catch the hardtail in the topic right away. My Redline hardtail weighs 24.4 lbs...
