If it's for the 7, I'm in. I'd build a wheel set and custom powder coat a set of rims in sb blue. It would look like a rolling piece of candy

Good luck banana. Just ordered a KS lev 125 for mine (the highest I could go without having to raise my asddle) and I'm contemplating still staying under 30 lbs

Also, with a 150mm fork, would this bike be capable of downhill parks?

I don't know how downhill friendly 29ers are in general. What wheels do you plan on running?

I get that 29ers arent DH friendly, but a lot of my training days for enduro are going to be done in parks. and some races have downhill type areas in them. I think the 29er is invaluable in rough terrain though

Wanna prototype test some 35mm wide Carbon hoops we are working on?

Pike150, CC DB AIR CS or Monarch Plus and I believe it will be very DH friendly.....maybe not huge hucking friendly but hauling ass through the big chunk....very friendly....lift runs very friendly

Actually, first prototype testing I did on the Thumper Prototypes was 4 days of Lift Riding in Deer Valley/Park City.

Finally watched the Thumper Trail video (where the thumper got its name) and have to say it looks like a fun trail and very close to what I currently ride (except more climbing for me).

So for someone who is 6' with a 31"ish inseam would I be better on the large frame Thumper? I currently ride a 19.5" Inbred.

For reference, I'm 6'3", 35" inseam. I'm on an XL with a short stem (60mm) and wide bars (780mm/30mm rise) so I agree large will be the perfect size.

Ok cool.... Yeah I am running a 60 or 70mm stem on the Inbred right now and it is perfect with my flat bars.

    EDIT:
Ok just went and compared the ETT for the two bikes and the ETT for the Inbred is 23.7" or 601.98mm... The large Thumper is showing an ETT of 620mm, so that is almost 3/4" longer than what I am currently at. Wondering if it would be better to go with the Medium frame that has an ETT of 599mm?

We're all different when it comes to how we like our bikes to "fit". I'm about your size and had a 18" kona satori before I bought the Thumper and it was just too small for me to be really comfortable on with its 23.5" ETT and 70 mm stem. I Sold the satori and bought a large Thumper which has an inch longer ETT than the Satori. I swapped all the parts from the Satori and put them on the Thumper except I changed the stem to a 50mm stem. Talk about an awakening...I wish I had tried a longer TT and shorter stem years ago. Having said that I got a buddy that hates the way his bike handles with a 50mm stem... It might be tough to test ride a Thumper but if you could test ride a medium (18")satori with a 70 or 80mm stem and a large satori (20") with a 50 mm stem that would give you a good feel of how the Thumper is going to fit.

    FWIW, I am 5'8" on a good day. I ordered a medium.

My Titus FTM, has similar fit and ETT, and its a small, which was a tad small for me. I was comfy, but need a little more stability.

Also, I demoed a Stumpy in large, same ETT as the Thumper in.medium, and it felt very nice.

Ok guys that is what I was looking for....
Just put in my order with Scott for a large black Thumper... My jake sold last night so that is funding part of the purchase. Excited to get it and start building it.

Since I am splitting time between the bike and fixing up my Land Cruiser this build will take a bit of time. Hopefully not to long though..

    Hello all,

I am taking delivery of my frame today, very excited. After a few quick pictures, its getting torn down and dropped at the powder shop for some purple treatment.

Super excited about racing on this bike, I am going to build it as a 2x10 with 150mm travel in front, 130mm rear.

On a related note, I was torn about using a 29er for enduro racing, and about the double chainring to get the the gears I need. This article sealed my decision, its a very similar bike on paper to what I am building.

Yeah a very good article and very poignent for me. I have been working the calculations with the Sheldon Brown tool to see if I can do a bit better with a 2x10 vs. my ghetto 2x9 setup. Looking like I will be doing a 26/39 setup with 11/36 cassette.

Damn. that is nice looking... can't wait till mine shows up!

With regards to the dropper post. Went and did a 15 mile ride with my buddy who is a SCOTT rep, he has a 27.5 Genius that he has decked out even more than it originally came and has a RS dropper. We were talking about the incoming build for me and he kept pushing the dropper. Then of course going down this new trail with great flow after the rain/snow we received last night he would yell back... "Oh dude, look my seat just lowered for me.. Oh look, it just came up again." Bastard.....

When I had the bike shop I had these as my personal rigs...6+ months on each.
RIP9 (previous model and current model), RIP9 RDO, SC Tallboy LTa, previous model Salsa Horsetheif, Rocky Mountain Altitude, Ellsworth Evolution....

Didn't own it but put quite a bit of time in on the Stumperjumpers (pre-Enduro)

Let's say I am extremely happy with the way the Thumper/Unveil9 stacks up

Wheels are turning now......maybe I will work on a Blog post about the experiences and do a little compare/contrast

That XT build's price seems kind of high. Especially considering the On One Codeine XO1 comes in at about that price (minus VAT).

The Codeine XO1 is a good price....but you need to factor in 20% import duty (plus shipping to the States) for Complete Bikes....the 20% import duty takes the price to $3,460

Thumper XT build stacks up really nice to these prices

    RIP 9 - XT $4,199
Santa Cruz Bicycles Tallboy LT Aluminum - XT $4,967
    Specialized Bicycle Components - X7 $3,300
    KONA BIKES | 2014 BIKES | TRAIL DS | SATORI - SLX $3,399

Awesome. I'm hoping to come in under 29# with my dropper once my carbon bars come back from warranty (they cracked at 5nm during install). And I may pick up a rocket-v saddle, (probably the team or pro) which will save 100g off my current saddle. Also just ordered a gxp bb for my sram carbon cranks that I have to try them out on the thumper.

TwoNin9r - check out the Charge Spoon/Knife Ti saddles. I have the regular Spoon on my Inbred and it has been one of the most comfortable saddles I have ridden (purchased 3 different ones trying to find one that felt right) but I did like the WTB saddle. The other thing you might want to look into is the Enduro BB vs the GXP, I was looking at them both last night and think that the Enduro actually saved quite a bit of weight for the cost, didn't write it down so dont remember for sure (will be on the "upgrades" list for the bike after a year or so along with FastBanana's other Enduro bearings).

Oh nice! Lol I just had my lbs order whatever would work with the cranks (it was $40) but I'm going to look at the saddles you mentioned now. Thank you.

Im gonna look into the enduro BB. I did a complete build list with listed weights, right now I am planning on 29.5 with dropper.

EDIT. weight savings of the ceramic bearings is a dollar per gram. 60 grams. I may upgrade when its time to overhaul the BB.

No worries. I see the published is 950 for the tires. I think between lighter tires and carbon rims I can cut 1.5 pounds off the rolling stock.

No prob dude.. I did a lot of searching and for the money those saddles can't be beat. Think I got my regular Spoon from TreeFortBikes.com for something like $35 shipped. Thinking of going with the Knife this time but debating.

I need to find a good set of "gold" bars for the bike. I run flat bars on my Inbred but thinking of giving 1/4" risers a try (have a set I can try when I build the bike) but eventually I want to go with gold bars and they are a #$&*@! to find in 31.8mm anymore (found in 35mm but that requires a special stem).

Yeah not sure about the 3/4" rise though. I like the bars flat on my Inbred (tried the 1/4" risers) but may be different on the Thumper. I will use the ones I have when I build it up to see and then if I like it (or can find some regular low rise bars in gold) I will swap over.

Thanks for chiming in @noosa2....yep, he's in the old backyard of the frame that was one of the main inspirations for the Thumper/Unveil9.

I worked for Titus as a sales rep in the Cocalis days...one of my favorite bikes of all time was the Moto-Lite we sold at the time.

When I started the Brand I wanted the first frame to be similar to what a Cocalis/Titus Moto-Lite 29er would have been

I think we nailed it! Now I just need to get to South Mountain sometime and ride it aboard the Unveil9....last time I rode it was on a Moto-Lite at a Titus sales meeting

29.17 lbs with dropper and aluminum bars and cranks, that's with bottle cage and flat pedals. Carbon bars and cranks will be on by next week should be around 28.5!
