    GT bikes

Hello all new to the forums. I used the search function and didn't see any mention of any GT 29er's. is there any love for them out there or are they junk?

I do not like GT hardtails. The suspension bikes made by GT are cool, but to me their hardtails just seem like placeholders and ways for GT to make more money.

I have the '13 Sensor 9R Elite, and I really like it, but I feel like their real 29er and 650B push starts with the 2014 line (Sensor, Force updates). The new longer travel on the iDrive with lighter weight version really look interesting.
The hard tails - not so much.

I have a 2013 Sensor Expert and am really enjoying it. I have had no issues with it other than the Formula RX disc barkes being a little loud when wet. Doesn't affect stopping performance though as they are quite strong. Seems to be a great value that not enough people are paying attention to. Maybe that is why they are cheaper. I am not complaining as it allows me to update for less if need be. So far, so good and it has been on a lot of mountain rides as well as our local trails which are more hilly.

I had a GT Zaskar Carbon bike. It was reasonably stiff and rode fairly well. I would not seek to purchase there carbon hardtail. Its fine, is not a ringing endorsement as there are far better options out there. I opted to swap it out for the FS version and I think they did much better with that.

P.S. The Zaskar Carbon in small is about 1550 grams
