    Fuji Outland RC29 .... info?

Have a bunch of parts in my garage.... thought I'd build a second bike.

Picked up a Fuji RC29 frame on Ebay.

Looking at the online info, there doesn't seem to be any?

My frame is red, black, white, not the grey, black on Fuji's 2009 website. The rear suspension linkage has 80mm written on it and is hollowed out.

My LBS said it might be painted in team colors. Okay.

But how about the rear geometry difference?

Here is a link to the frame:

    Any info appreciated

That's the 2010 color scheme. Same geo as the grey 2009 model. The frame had a complete makeover for 2011 and name change. It's a decent riding frame - great going downhill(as far as eating up bumps goes). Frame is on the heavy side.

I agree, it is a great riding frame, stiff where it should be, and the suspension seems okay. However, it is heavy, (Fuji says they'll work on that for 2012), and the rear tire clearance looked slim on the one I rode.

    Thanks!

You guys were right on the frame year!

Here is the email Fuji sent me, within 24 hours!

What you have there is one of the VERY FEW 2010 model Outland 29 RCs that we produced. We only did a very limited run of those because the 2010 was very similar to the 2009, other than graphics on the frame. Other than that, they were the same, and since we still had a good stock of 2009 models we did not bring in a lot of the 2010 models.

    Cool....an inexpensive and unique frame

I will weigh the frame this week at the post office. I have a Titus Racer X 29 and had a pre-recalled Jet 9. The Titus is 6.2 lb and the Jet 9 was 6.3 lb. As long as the Fuji is close to that, I will be happy.

    Thanks again!

I looked at these frames on ebay, but my lowball bid didn't win on a 20" frame (your size, perhaps?) Anyway, when I was digging up information on them, the frame weight seemed to be right about 7 pounds. That's the same as my old Stumpjumper FSR, or a Big Mama, etc.

    17" Weight

Okay, couldn't wait to find out my frame's weight.

Drove to the Post Office and on their digital scale I got a weight of 6 lb and 11.5 oz. So it is about half a pound heavier than my Titus Racer X 29 and Jet 9,

    I cannot complain.
