FS 29ers in front of FS 26ers?

    Hi,

I think we can all agree that 29er HTs have taken over the spotlight from the 26" HTs, but how about the FS bikes? It looks pretty close based on what manufacturers are producing for 2013. My LBS seems to have an even amount of 29er and 26er FS bikes. What do you think?

    Thanks

I think that in a few years you won't find many 26" bikes, 27.5 is going to become the mainstream, 29 will still be there for people who like the rolling efficiency/are bigger, but 26 will be negated to small niche markets and low end bikes. You'll be able to get wheels/parts for a while, so I wouldn't worry there, but otherwise 3-5 years from now it will probably be difficult to impossible to buy a new high end 26" XC/Trail/AM bike...

Yeah, I was surprised of all the new changes Trek made to their '13 Fuel EX models, 26er versions. Especially since they just came out with their 29 versions. I wonder if the 26ers will be dropped next year. They really are great bikes.
