Fisher X-Cal or Jamis Dakota 29'er....

What do everyone think. Looking for a the best 29er w/out breaking my bank. Both are similar in price. Don't really want to spend anymore than this. . ($1250.00 ballpark)
Talked to a Jamis dealer- said nothing out there as complete bike compares for the $$$. Would love to hear some input....
    Thanks to all!

    bike choice

The best advice would be to pick whichever bike feels and fits better.
The slightly longer top tube of the Gary Fisher Paragon was my choice.

The fork on the Xcal may be a bit lighter than the Tora.
The Fisher 29er aluminum hardtails are getting a major makeover for 08'.

Is the Jamis available in your LBS?

Try a search on this forum for the new 08' Paragon, pictures included!
It will have the new G2 geometry with a new off-set fork. The Xcal will follow.

You are right about the fork. The Reba is quite a bit lighter than the Tora. That would be enough to sway me to the X-Cal.

Check out the Haro Mary XC and Raleigh XXIX+g, both should be right around that pricepoint as well.
