Horribly don't know what to do on my next bike. Needs to be FS XC & light.
I was originally going to go with the Era Carbon Comp (same specs as the Epic Comp) and upgrade it to XT and Stans Crest Wheels using the components I currently have on my Superfly HT. That would only leave me with a meh fork to eventually upgrade. I love the color!
Now, for $700 more, I am thinking about the Aluminum Epic World Cup M5. It comes with carbon wheels, a SID fork, and 1x11. The exact same specs is available in a carbon frame for TWO THOUSAND dollars more. Not an option. Colors are pretty neat on this too. I just worry it limits my ability to upgrade in the future b/c it has all the components I need, just no carbon frame.
My other option is to just go with the Trek Superfly, which comes with X01, lightish wheels, carbon frame, full fox set up, etc for $5395. Catch is: I dont like the color! Seems silly, but it matters.
I searched all over and could not find the aluminum frame weight on the WCM5.
