cost on demo bikes for sale?

rode a 2013 stumpjumper comp fsr demo from my local bike shop and the owner said he would sell it to me if i was interested which i certainly am.
anyone know what they usually sell for or if there is a certain percent they take off the demos. i am trying to get a rough idea on the cost so i can decide what i want to do and if i can afford to do it.here is a link to the bike it is the black and charcol one.

how long has it been in the demo fleet?

    how "used" does it look?

The answers to both will influence price.

How used is it? Warranty? Tune ups? Id think if its not to used and you get full warranty and tuneups anything less then 2k would be good

it does not look to used its just dirty i cant see any scratches on it he said his wife has been riding it and im not sure if anyone else has rode it other than me. i really dont know how long its been used in the demo program. i just rode it over the weekend and it worked great no problems to note, im going to talk to him again tomorrow. lets say it was just a used bike of the net in like new shape what would you guys try to get it for then.

I think I would feel comfortable somewhere in the $1800-2200 range. That's around 1/3 off the retail on a current model bike that has not been used very much. If the price was on the higher side of the range I would insist that free tune-ups be included as well as ensuring that the full warranty remains applicable before pulling the trigger.

I wouldn't be surprised if he offers to sell it for $2500. In my opinion, more needs to come off of the price than that.

On the other hand I seriously doubt $1500 would get it done. That's half off on an almost new bike as riding season is just getting started. Someone will pay more than that for it.

I considered the same but ultimately went with new...different brand than you are looking at. Some of the shops, end of last season were reasonable on price for demo bikes, some were not.

If you do go this route, ask if they will do a complete tear down, clean, regrease and rebuild.

Your link lists a Stumpy at $1800 and it's a year older than the one the OP is flirting with. How does that justify $1500?

Used bike is not a used bike. A lot of times a bike from a demo fleet will still come with a warranty and that makes a difference.
Also may still carry lifetime tunes ups like a new bike.
