Conversion 2012 Maviic crossmax 29 to 142x12 axel

I bought a set of 2012 Crossmax 29er disc UST tubless rear wheel that needs to be converted to 142x12. I have been told that this wheel and year can not be converted. Is this true or is there a conversion kit that would work? Thanks

    Schaumer87,
Which model wheel is it? The easiest way to tell if a Mavic wheel is convertible is by figuring out which freewheel it has on it. ITS-4 freewheels can be adapted to all popular axle systems. ITS-4 freewheels are made of aluminum and are bright silver, older ones are steel and dull grey. Let me know if you have questions figuring it out and if you need part numbers for the adapters.

    Jeff,

The freewheel is not a bright silver, but looks more like dull gray in color, does that make a difference?

    Jeff,
I think the freewheel is more dull grey to almost a brownish color, how can I tell for sure but I was told it is a 2012, I could use your help to determine part numbers and adapters. Thanks for your help

    Schaumer87,
Google "Mavic C29SSMAX" those wheels are unfortunately not convertible. Crossmax ST and SLR both have ITS-4 freewheels. Look at pictures or post one of what you have. Cool?
