    Cannondale Flash Carbon 29er 1 vs 29er 2

I do not know much about the ballistic high mod carbon in the 1 vs ballistic carbon in the 2.

The 1 is spec'd with XO, where the 2 is spec'd with x9.
The 1 has the hollowgram, the 2 has the FSA SLK cranks
The 1 has better spokes, hubs.
The 1 is over $1000 more than the 2.

Price aside, can you compare these for me, so I can make a good decision.
What are opinions on resale value, after 1 year of riding on each?
Any Idea on the weights of each?

    Thanks!

From what I understand...that $1,000 will get u some really nice stuff. But, the weight difference may not be that much at those levels. I think the hi mod is under 100 grams lighter. If u have the money, go for it. If money is tight, you'd be happy with the cheaper one. Part of the $ u save can go to an upgrade.

The 1 has the most perfect of builds...

XO, SI, Arch/ 240/ Aerolite....perfect build. No reason to upgrade anything on the 1.

@ $1,650 less than the HiMod 1. The 2 is by far the better value. It likely comes within 1 lb of the Flash 1.

The best value overall though was last years Carbon 1.

x2. It's a lot of extra $$$ for not a lot of weight saving. I looked at both before ordering the 2.

If there had been a Flash 29er Ultimate with full XX they might have suckered me into spending the extra.

I just ordered the 2. I had the same debate between the 2 and 3.

Anyone have any knowledge on the Hi modulus carbon of the 1, vs the "regular" carbon of the two?
I have read that high modulus may be more fragile. True?

    Let's get some weights up! anyone with a 1, or a 2, let's compare!

It's an odd scenario... I am in a position where I have never ridden a 29er, but will be riding/racing a Flash carbon 29er for 2011.
I am a gear junky for sure, and like having the best models, but am nervous about a hardtail 29er after racing for years on a 4 and 4.
Do I get the carbon 29er 1... or do I spend more, and get the carbon 29er 2, and a RZ120 2, to have a "fun bike"

I am do not huck, or do any major drops, but I do like to ride hard.

    Number one all the way.

    Better,

    Cranks
    wheels
    brakes
    Lefty fork

    It's a no brainer.
