It's a great frame. You going geared or SS? The N9 is a frame begging to be ridden SS.

Rigid SS. Gonna roll the dice on a 15mm thru axle Chinese carbon fork. 510mm a2c. We will see how it works

Awesome. I'd be interested in how that works. I'm on a Whiskey No. 9 fork and it's awesome but my god it's a wallet killer. Next build I'd love to get a Chinese fork...if I could trust it.

yeah.. it's $130 shipped plus the cost of a Mahle axle.

I'm sitting at 275lbs right now so if anyone is gonna destroy it I will, plus we got very rocky, rooty terrain.

Rigid 29er Taper Steerer Carbon Fork 15mm thru Axle MTB Carbon Fork 510mm | eBay

It only comes in UD matte. I'm working with the supplier to get it painted to match my bike. We will see how much that costs.

My guess is it'll be fine. Figure it's made in the same factory that makes name brand parts and it's probably just an unbranded fork.

Yeah. I'm no more concerned about this fork than any other carbon fork shattering.

Should be a climbing beast compared to my yelli with a 140mm fork.

Looking at the schematic it looks like the A to C is 490. Not sure where that 510 is coming from. On the drawing the 510 line ends up the steer tube a bit. Maybe an external lower cup would get you close to 510?

Yeah. I was just looking at that. It's not a 15mm thru axle either. I will need something a little more accurate before I roll the dice. An external headset would put it at 500 a2c. So that would work. Good call out Jeff

How about the Carver 490? $300 bucks, 490 a-c, 15mm axle and a more reasonable 45mm offset vs the 39* of the ebay fork. If I was gonna go rigid on my Yelli thats the one Id use.

I'm using a 490mm White Brothers Rock Solid on my gen 1 N9 and like it. It looks like MRP is now offering the Rock Solid with a tapered steerer and 15mm axle.
I only ride bikes to fill the time when I'm not skiing.

thx jkidd, not quite what i was looking for.

jeff thx for that link, as this looks like if i use a external lower cup it will be exactly what i'm after. double the price but 1/2 the worry.

I have a friend who could be interested. What are you looking to get for the frame and where are you located? We're in the Columbia Gorge/Portland OR area.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

Those shells represent a lot of fun times....but not as much fun as time spent on an N9.

That being said, I have decided to move forward with building a full squish rig, an in order to help fund the process parts are coming off my N9. The Large 2013 frame will then be up for grabs. I know I will regret letting Trixie go....but I must move on!!

Boo. While I'd love a full suspension, I've decided that it's not happening until I can afford to do it without selling the N9.

I hear you man!! I really didn't want to sell the N9 (and honestly should really wait until I build up the next bike before I get to set on selling the N9 ), but I have a 9ZERO7 that I love to ride right now, and if I wanted to I suppose I could build a 29+ wheelset for, and consider that my HT.

I have a lot of other areas that money/time needs to go, and I really just don't think I will have the time to enjoy that many bikes.

Same here. I don't want an FS until I can afford to do it whilst keeping the N9 and the Yelli.
