Here's some pics. Finished it this afternoon. Going to set it up ghetto tubeless tomorrow morning.

    Setup:
    08? Orbea Alma
    2011 Reba RL fork
    3x10 drivetrain
    XTR rear/XT front derailleurs
    XT shifters
    FSA Afterburner cranks
    Avid Elixer CR brakeset
    WTB Laserdisc wheelset
    Ritchey Comp handlebars and stem
    Bontrager RXL saddle

Reach seems short so I think I'm gonna flip the stem and maybe try a longer one I have sitting around. Weighs in at 24.6 lbs. Good 5 pound loss of my old Enduro. Now if only the snow would melt so I could actually try it out!

My new one. Just picked it up this morning...

Had a great first ride. Probably going to swap my marta sl's, dt swiss fork and all my cockpit parts over from my ss. Should be a pretty sweet set up.

Just finished her today. Just need to run derailer cables. Its a custom built 29er, built by Tom Teesdale and designed by a local builder Norway Cycles. Its made from ox platinum steel and it came in at 25.7lbs

Swapped some parts over. Now it just needs wheels, headset, and seatpost.

It's a DH headset. Made for the thicker frames I'm guessing, which it why there's a bit of overhang. I just like it as there is no pressure directly on the bearings like in the lighter headsets as they are encased in an external shell which takes the pressure. That way you can tighten down the headset bolt more, eliminating all possible play, and it will run smoothly forever (well a lot longer than a lightweight headset).

It does look a bit funny, but I quite like the chunky look.

Vassago Bandersnatch built with parts I had lying around. I built this for my son to ride with me. I had two bikes with 2 adult sons, so I had to build another so we could all ride together. Haven't ridden it as we have a lot of snow/melting snow at the moment. Will have to do some adjustment for fit.

    Heres my new 29er.

Built from a 2010 Haro Mary XC frame I sourced from ebay.

    It's a real porker at nearly 29LBS.

But it's ok because I am no lightweight myself so it nice to know I have a bunch of strong parts under me.

My new pedals will shave nearly a half pound and I have some other ideas to lose a little more but it will never be a lightweight.

I didn't even know 29er bikes existed until I started looking for a mtb about a month ago. It was about 13 years since I owned a bike. I was set on a entry level Cannondale trail sl 4 29er until I saw this.
Scott Scale 29er Comp. First upgrade is a new seat, the one in the picture hurts.
