Bikes Direct "build kit"

I am looking to build up a good quality 29er but I'm a little short on cash. I was thinking about buying a Motobecane Phantom 29PRO SL or Windsor Cliff 29er Team for their parts and then buying a halfway decent frame on the cheap. Which is the better donor bike and what would you suggest for a good but affordable frame? Should I just stick with the BD frame?

If you're going for good but affordable and not something specific, I'd just stick with the Bikes Direct frame.

The moto frame is better than the other cheap aluminum frames available. You can actually run 2.4 tires. Unless you have 600 bucks to spend you should just ride the fantom, You'll have a fun on it, I promise.

Good advice. Just ride the frame that comes with it (if they actually have anything in stock and ship it to you. ) and see if you like. If no likey, sell and get something you do like.
