Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! Bike 29's Meat-up II (Electric Boogaloo)

Last fall, Bike 29 and a handful of other 29er riders gathered in North Eastern VT for a 29er festivsl of sorts. We called it the Meat-up, and it was a hoot. Some folks though it was such a good idea, that they decided to threw an event of thier own. The folks at the Crooked Cog Network is having the Big Wheeled Ballyhoo in the Midwest in late June.

Lots of folks have asked if there will be another one, and I'm proud to say that there is.
While the final details still need to be worked out, the date of Meat-up II is July 21st 2007. The venue will be Catamount Family Center in Williston VT. There will be on site camping available, but for those without tents, the proximity to Burlington will be helpful.
But here is what is different this year.
In addition to the Meat-up, The weekend will include the inagural New England Single Speed Champion Chips. A real race held at Catamount on Sunday July 22nd.
The race will be open to all singlespeeders, on any size wheels. More details on the whole weekend to follow in the coming weeks.
All in all, it promises to be a weekend of fun. Mark your calenders!

    Sounds great!!

The first one was a grand time, this one has the ability to be great. On the fact alone that you are never tooo far away from some homebrew!!

But the best part is I can ride my bike there!

Let me know via PM if you need any help with the logistics or race coursing....sully and i can throw a grand loop together.

    calendar marked!

do you have to register or anything? or can you just show up?

also, was the last one kid friendly? i have been to a few very fun events that were not kid friendly (it was prekid for me). i wouldnt ask except that it's at the 'family center'.

in any case, thanks for the early notice. i shall make every effort to attend.

anyone coming from the waitsfield/warren, VT area? maybe road ride there over lincoln gap? in any case i am looking forward to it. thanks for organizing.

The main reason for moving the event to Catamount was to make it more family friendly.
I hope that lots of cycling families will come to the Meat-up.
The Burke event is a little too "dark side" for most families, and while that part of it is really cool, it isn't as accessible for those of us with kids and jobs etc...
The dates are firm now, but there are still the details to shake out.

JH, I DARE you to ride Lincoln Gap on a single speed!!!

George, I'm gonna try to make this one for real.
All problems in mountain biking can be solved by going faster, except the ones that are caused by going too fast.

Care = < NOT. More interested in this shindig, assuming it's still on. I hope so, my sorry a$$ has never even ridden in VT, let alone on what sounds like a great trail system. Sounds like I may need to slap a front der. on one of the bikes...

At the moment, I don't even have time to plan a trip to the corner store for a creemee...
There will be no Meat-up this year.
    But,
It seems as if there are a few of you that have made some plans.
I will take care of you. e-maiil me for a private tour of our local goods on this appointed weekend. I'll help you find your lodging. Find me through my site.

Meat-up is a state of mind.
