Best Wheel Upgrade 29er Trail/All Mountain
I'm 6'3" and 205. Ride an XL Trek HiFi 29er, 4 inch travel FS (same as current superfly 100 AL). Has Bontrager SSR wheels. Seems heavy and I am looking for a good wheel upgrade that will drop some weight but not break my bank. Also, want to go tubeless.

Would like to hear from those out there about a good $600 (for the set) upgrade. I ride the bike fairly hard and given my weight, strength is more important than weight.

You can pick up a pair of Stans 29er Flow EX rims with Hope hubs for $391 plus free shipping at Wiggles in the UK. That's an awesome deal. The downside with Hope hubs is the noise, as in very loud, but they are excellent hubs.

Yes. Under option one, click on the down arrow for other rim types.

I just tried to order these yesterday, but couldn't find a 29er Arch option - I think their website might be quirky. Anyway, even though I was all set on the Hope/Arch wheelset, I ended up buying Easton Havens from Chain Reaction Cycles - only $511. This is a great price, and now that Easton is offering a fix for their hub problems, should be a great wheelset.

Still, the $391 from Wiggle is the best value out there, IMO, if you can get it. I stayed away from Hope hubs for years because of the noise, but I've had them on my bike for a couple of years now and I have come to like it - it is a good way of warning other trail users that you are coming up on them. I use it instead of a bell or yelling out!

I love my Nancy LB wheels on the trail, but for all mountain, I would run the Flows/Hope, Havens, or something else more durable.

The stock wheelsets from Stan's are solid and within you're budget. Flow EX's and call it a day.
