American Classic 29er wheel SS hub - Thumbie and 10 speed

Any idea how many cogs I can fit? With an older 8 speed set up I got 5.
Anyone done this before with this hub? Tighter cog spacing = more cogs... right?
I will use a XT 10 speed RD and chain
    Thanks

I'll be interested to hear how this works out. I'm thinking one more cog at most if any.

That is what I thought. The cassette comes 3 - 3 and then 4 individual cogs. If I can go 6 then my choice is 18 or 19 as my smallest cog.... not what I want. 17 is ideal around here.
My front ring is a 32T Boone on a 951 XTR crank (not changing that)

I have a Stan's ZTR SS hub (should be the same FH body as an AC) and can fit 5cogs with a 9 speed cassette. I imagine that with a 10 speed cassette you could fit one more as I can almost get 6 on mine.

You may have to use your smallest cog to maintain the structural integrity of the hub if the smallest cog on 10spd cassettes are like the 9spds and have the steel spacer integrated and part of the smallest cog. I found that out the hard way with my fatbike out on the trail when I was cranking along on the flats, the plastic spacer broke, and the cog just spun around the freewheel when I pedaled because it didn't have enough meat to grab at the end of the hub.
Or use a spacer between the lockring and cog to get the bite you need.

Am I correct either w/ the 11T or a spacer - it would limit me back to 5 cogs total?

I couldn't answer that for you. Maybe it would be easier to sell your current wheel and pick up a new rear wheel and use an 9spd cassette/RD for geared days and a spacer kit when you want to go SS. Additionally, would the 10spd chain work with your chainring?
