    It's only 100mm

    but I think it fits in the AM geometry class.

    AM-Hardtail Gallery

    i have not seen a galery for 29" all mountain hardtails around here, so i thought i just start one...

    there is something new coming this september...

    made for forks from 120-140mm travel, shortest chainstay position 16.4", slack headangle (shall be around 68° with 140mm fork...)

    pretty excited to see this in real life...

    so come on people, post your yellis, paradoxes, bystickels and whatever bikes you consider am-hardtails (29" all of course)

    I used to have a 2soulscycles 26er and it was good, until I managed to get the BB threads stripped

    Those dropouts are great.

    The Manitou Minute has been flawless. I wouldn't hesitate buying it again. The Tower Pro is the identical fork and will be available with tapered steerer soon:

    "1.5 Taper - Avail. Fall 2011" from the website.

    Why would you want a 100mm. on a Nimble 9? I'd get a 120mm.

    The Nimble 9 will have a 1 1/8 headtube so no use for a tapered steerer.

    My 2 current front hubs (Chris King and I9) both use a standard qr so I think I'll stick to that instead of spending $200 on new axles. Do you think the Tower with qr will be stiff enough for my 165 lbs?

    Seems like these days everybody raves about 15 or 20 mm through axels. I'd like to get the Tower with the new 15 mm axle but it looks like it will not be out before 2012 and I don't want to wait that long.

    And why 100? Well, I guess I'm afraid that the 120 will make the bike feel to slow/slack. But the Nimble is no race bike so maybe I should just get the 120 for a little extra fun...? Just wish I could test ride...

    RockShox and Fox 120mm fork can both be shortened down to 100mm with an internal spacer if you don't like the taller setting. I don't believe the 120mm Manitou models are officially travel adjustable, but I'm pretty sure I've seen some tips on this forum on how to shorten them with a similar method to the others

    That's funny! I'm 220lbs. and the fork is about as stiff as I've ridden but it is a 20mm. I used to have a Manitou Nixon 145mm. with QR on my 26" bike and there was no noticeable flex. Are either of your front hubs convertible to 15mm. Chris King and I9 usually are. All Manitou 20mm. Hex Axle forks are convertible to to 15mm. Check with Manitou if they have the kits.

    The Canfield Bros. say that the Nimble 9 is made for a 5" fork. I was a little skeptical about 120mm. on a hardtail at first but the Paradox handles great and with the 120mm. still climbs, well.... like a Banshee.

    I've posted this before, but I'll gladly post it again!

    With the fork at 120 mm, the head tube angle is 67.5 degrees with a 12" BB height. Chainstays are at 16-5/8".

    This thing is a ripper!

    You guys have some sick bikes. I don't ride 29 but I LOVE the AMHT niche. I would totally encourage you to post these bikes in the All Mountain: The Hardtail Thread -Post yours up. These bikes totally fit the category.

    Banshee Paradox

    My first 29er build ... nailed it.
    After much research, I picked the Paradox because it's geometry is almost identical to my Nomad. I think this familiarity really helped me adjust to a 29" wheel.
    Finding a Paradox frame in large was proving to be almost impossible - sorry LBS, I couldn't wait any longer. Finally got one from BikeBling.

    Specs as of now:

    Fork: Modded Fox 36 Float ... so stiff.
    Drivetrain: 1x9 - 32t front / 11-36t cassette (I think I need a lower gear - not sure if I'll add a front derailleur or a 38t cog)
    Wheels: Flows on White Industries MI6 hubs

    Everything else from the parts bin.
