This is why I ride a 29er and not a dutch bike to work:

I used Audioslave for the music, becuase hearing Chris Cornell sing reminds me that even though I think I'm incredibly cool, and even if I may have been a little bit cool in the 90's, a lot of people nowadays wish I would just shut up.

You have no excuse for driving to work
(unless you don't have studded tires)
    (no excuse for that either)

The rim size of a dutch bike is the same as the rim size of a 29-er?
Probably the smallest 29-er rider in the Dutch Mountains.

    OK?

I've never actually seen a Dutch bike in person I don't think, and I don't mean to insult them. But the picture I have in my head includes a basket, swoopy frame tubes, gigantic handlebars and big springy seats. Rim size wasn't on my mind. If you're Dutch and offended, substitute "beach cruiser" for "dutch bike".

Somehow I missed these, and, yes, that was from Waco, but I couldn't tell you which part. Waco is close enough to DFW to drive down the morning of, but far enough to make preriding a burden. Going in blind on a new bike, first race of the year after poor winter riding (started grad school, so, yeah) did not add up to an enjoyable race.

How did you know you would need to take your helmet off to fit in the photo ?

Honestly, I haven't worn a helmet one time on the mountain bike. . Its funny cuz my shirt in that pic is the star wars bounty hunter boba fett and it says " I always wear a helmet".... I don't wear em on that trail cuz its a trial I build in my back yard... Its pretty slow n safe..

This is interesting : Specialized bikes are very rare in these pics, interesting because we all know who pushes the 29 thing the most and interesting because during my yearly trip to good old USA ( west coast) 8 bikes out of 10 are Specialized.
Nothing wrong with this tho, variety is life's spice and I'm slowly dropping the big red S passion myself. Enjoying my time on Cannondale
