27.5" "pedal pink" Engin Cycles raffle bike

    All,

I am raffling off a singlespeed 650B (27.5') bicycle at Interbike '07 to raise money for the Philadelphia chapter of the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation. You do not need to attend the show to win the raffle. Tickets are being sold online through BikeReg.com. Photos of the frameset (complete bike photos to follow) can be found here:
    http://www.engincycles.com/open_frame.html

You can purchase raffle tickets and find additional details here:
    http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=5324

Thanks in advance for all support of the cause.
    -Drew

    Very pretty!
Good luck to everyone who enters, awesome cause!
(too bad I'm way taller than the frame is designed for)

What's up with that? Taller than 5'4 need not apply the way it sounds?

    unless you've got a lady friend/biking mom/niece/etc, yep.

See, as awesome as it would be to hand my GF a ride like that, I'd feel bad about spending all the money it would take for me to replace my prophet with something on par with the raffle prize!

The main reason for the size is because the smaller women benefit greatly from the 650B wheel/tire combo and they are a neglected part of the cycling scene. everyone knows someone that small and how cool would it be to win that for $10 and give it to her/him.

Umm sorry... I don't have anyone in my life who fits that requirement.

But I sure as heck would love to plunk down 10 bucks for a chance to win a custom Engin 650B bike built just for me at 5'10".

Neglected segment/more-beneficial or not... that just sounds like a sure way of limiting response to me.

I'll buy a couple tickets. Would be a wonderful present for my mom who's 5'2 and who just had a scare with breast cancer (thankfully turned out to not be cancer, but she's on edge about it as most of her family has had it). Would it be possible to convert to a geared bike though? I don't think she'd dig the SS.

    Single Speed

the sliders have a geared drop out available but obviously the wheels and crankset are for single speed use. also there are not any options for the cable routing of gears. still a good gift and great cause.

as for the limited audience i think there are 400 people in the world that would want this size bike and we are only selling 400 tickets at $10 each. now down to around 350 available and the auction just opened. thanks for the input however.
