New question here. 2015 Fourstroke FS01 max tire width?

    Hi All,

This is my first post here. I've just purchased a near perfect, barely used 2015 FS01. I absolutely love it. done about 40km of fairly technical cross country in my first weekend with it.

It's currently running 2.2 icon front and rear. If possible I'd like 2.4" ardent or high-roller 2 on front.

Does anyone know if 2.4" would fit up front?

    Thanks for any help

Best bet is to get yourself a set of calipers and measure the distance between the seatstays and chainstays where the tire is closest. That will give you an approximate idea. It is hard to tell as tire size is NOT consistent and also rim width has a determining factor.

Ok I ended up getting an IKON 2.35 EXO TR for front and left an IKON 2.2 on rear.

There is still plenty of space up front could easily fit an ardent 2.4.or minion ss 2.3, ground control, etc so pretty happy with options

I had Fourstroke. I had Bontrager XR2 2.35 and Continental X-King 2.4 rear. Both were 60mm wide. They were really on the edge - you needed perfectly dished and trued wheel - then you had ~5mm clearance at chainstays. Had some rubbing there due to heavy mud - then put rock protection tape there to protect the chainstays.

Ahh ok well I'm going to test 2.35 IKON on front 2.2 IKON rear today. It seems there is atleast 7mm clearance on front. The chainstay on the rear is what might have issues like you say.

I'll have to test that out, cheers

2.35 IKON feels great on front and fits easily really happy with it. Currently just leaving IKON 2.2 on rear
