2013 Trek Mamba or Felt Nine 60 or Scott Scale 970?? HELP!!
In 2011 I purchased a MTB for the first time in a while. I bawt a 2011 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc (26in Wh). Loved that Bike. Ive done the 5 Boro Bike tour and recently the Tour De Queens on it. Its held up great. However, Due to the small wheel, I over tax my body doing high mileage runs.
I just signed up for the Century Tour and AINT NO WAY I'm doin 75 miles with that small Bike. So its out with the old and in with the new!
Time to upgrade to a 29er! My choices are:
2013 Trek Mamba
Felt Nine 60
Scott Scale 970
(I will be swapping the tires out to 29er Road-Type Tires)
I've been doin research on all 3 and found that the Felt is 4 lbs Heavier than the average of its class, and the Scott has a Suntor Fork (and is most expensive). I'm kinda leaning toward the Trek Mamba, but can anyone help?? All info is helpful!
Scott raised prices for 2013 by 18% and should be up for a discount of 20% or so.
But you do need to upgrade the fork if you are riding trails.
No upgrade needed on the Mamba.
Absolutely! Scott raised the price like crazy. Went from under 1K to $1200. Thats a lot especially with its Suntor Fork! Sheesh... Even with a discount, I wud have to upgrade the fork. I mite as well just get the Trek Cobia.

Have him take off the XO brakes and give you a price.
The wheels are a great upgrade, but you would need SLX brakes from Bluesky.
