    OK...cool...BUT...

    1. Are there going to be any full aluminum Element 29ers for 2013?

    2. What about pricing on the new carbon Element 29ers?

    3. When will I have official answers from RM for these questions?

Yes to first question - two models - higher end and lower end. Details on specs to be released.

Re question 2 historee - did you see the pricing information in the article l posted?

As to official do feel free to confirm with RMB as this is unofficial for now but 90% confirmed

So there will be a high-end FULL ALUMINUM Element 29er?

    1. If I am understanding you correctly, do you have any ideas on spec and price? Would it be more like the 2012 970 or 950?

whoops meant to cut and paste - formatting might not be good tho

    MSRP and weights

MSRP, weights and specifications for all the carbon Elements follow. The prices are definitely on the steep side. Having said that, Rocky sold through its entire inventory of 26″ wheeled Elements without blinking an eye and I do not doubt for a second that this too will happen with the 29er offerings.

    Model Size kg lb USD/CAD
    Element 999 RSL 17.0 (M) 10.14 22.3 $ 7,999
    Element 970 RSL 17.0 (M) 11.9 26.2 $ 4,999
    Element 970 BC ed. 17.0 (M) 12.5 27.7 $ 5,199
    Element 950 RSL 17.0 (M) 12.6 27.8 $ 4,099
Weights above are without pedals (which arenít supplied). Element 970 BC edition tested- with modifications (Chromag Fubars OSX 760mm bar and RaceFace Turbine stem and Chromag seat) Ė 28.55 lbs

Frame weight for the 999 frame (including hardware and rear shock) 4.38lbs/1.993kg

Anyone have any idea on what the BB height is? I see the drop but I'm not sure if there is a standard. I imagine something like low to mid 13s? It would be the same as 2012 but I can't seem to find this anywhere..

I test rode an aluminum version two weeks ago and what a bike. I also bought a RSL carbon 26er for my wife earlier this year and it is such an amazing bike that everyone has been drooling all over. I've been on the fence as it's a little more XC than I was hoping for but when they announced the BC edition this seals the deal...

Time to sell the Bastardo I think...

    thanks

PS Lee, not sure if you mentioned it earlier but how to you feel this stacks against your tallboy? Climbing, descending, and flickability?

    thanks

Man - thats a common question! Both are stiff. Both are so quiet. Both have incredible range of use. My Tallboy is a ridiculous bling spec so its hard to compare one against the other - apples and oranges if you know what I mean. I'm just thankful I never had to choose
