2012 Ventana El Capitan - Custom Rohloff build

Completed the build late last night and just had the first ride on my new Ventana El Capitan. 140mm travel front and rear. Custom color and cable runs for my trusty Rohloff internal gear hub. This is the Rohloffs 5th 29er bike it's followed me on in the last 10 years and it's still going strong. I'm upgrading from a 2008 El Cap. and so far I'm really liking the new design and feel of it.

The first pic shows the color well and the second sows some of the curves. the hill in the background is an old volcano that was part of the sunrise inaugural ride. More pictures and and build details to come. I'll post a ride report after i've got a few more behind me.

Love it, I'm on an El Rey 2007, thinking this may be my next bike.

    More El Capitan pics

Below are some more pics of the new El Capitan. Internal cable routing with custom routing for the Rohloff. A few specs on the build:

    XX brakes
    XX Single Speed Crankset
    Manitou 140mm Tower Pro QR15mm
    Gravity Dropper Post
WTB tubeless Laser TCS rims built up by Gravy Wheels. I have used this rim up at Downieville among other places with my old El Cap and it has done great for a 470ish gram rim. I've had his wheel builds for years and they have always been bomber.
    WTB Bronson front, Weirwolf rear.

Its not built up to be the lightest bike, but I have broken enough stuff over the years that I'll take strong over light.

Hadn't thought about it like that but my Rohloff is on its third frame in 5 years. Everything keeps breaking around it.

Nice Ventana. Solid build ... but I'm sure it won't outlast the rear hub.

Really digging the new El Cap. Maybe a FSR replacement?
