No, I ended up with the Scott Scale 29er Expert (carbon frame)....got it in an XL, it's worth every penny....it is amazing. No regrets.....good luck with whatever you get...I test rode about 8 different bikes before making the decision....I initially bought the Scale 29er Elite (aluminum frame) then went back a week later and traded for the carbon….

Nice bike. That's quite a jump from the Palisade. Did anything with it turn you away, or was the Scott just a better deal (I know it's a better bike).

Well I narrowed it down to the 2012 Marin palisades trail 29er and the Scott Scale 29er Elite… I test rode them around the parking lot for 3 or 4 nights in a row and decided I liked the Scotts turning reaction… seemed a bit more responsive and seemed to keep me on my toes a bit more. I compared it to more of a sporty ride as to the sedan type ride of the Marin. After I bought the Elite I just said “what the heck” went back and traded it for the Expert because of the Carbon frame and component upgrades. I figured I would more than likely keep it stock for a while rather than start modifying the Elite. It was within 30 days so the trade was just paying the difference in price between the two. I absolutely love the bike and it matches my car ….lol, that was just a coincidence….but I basically went from 1,300 to 1,500 all the way to 2,500….. right after I bought it they went to 2,800…..no regrets at all…ride everything first before you decide what you want, that’s all I say. It worked for me, was just expencive…
