    $1100 Sette Razzo 2.0 a great deal? Better than $1300 Trek X-Caliber?

Shopped around locally and nothing comes close to the $1149 delivered price of Sette Razzo 2.0 X.9 29er Alloy Mountain Bike at Price Point

I know it's a 9 speed and doesn't come with a tapered headtube, etc., but for my non-aggressive beginner girlfriend I can't find anything close. Hoping this post garners some good input or maybe a red flag for this product.

The next best option locally is a $1378 out the door Trek X-Caliber, year 2011. Specs not as nice as the Sette.

It sure helps to try a bike before pulling the trigger($1100.00 isn't chump change).

None in town to try. Other than looking at geometry numbers it's a chance some take. They do have a 15 day return policy.

Exactly. You will never get that from any LBS.
I personally think it's a great deal. Congrats and have fun with the lady.

I bought one a few months ago for 1399 and thought I was getting a good deal. 1100 is a great deal for that bike. I also have a full carbon Rocky Mountain Altitude and probably ride my Razzo just as often.

I'm in a big fan of the Razzo frame. Add to that it comes with very good components.

I've had the bike setup as 3x9, 1x9 and now as a SS. Rode it today as a SS in a not so SS friendly trail full of rock, roots and killer climbs. My thighs were on fire making those climbs. By the end of the ride my body still felt good. I thought I would feel beat up.

The frame is probably the most comfortable alloy frame I've ridden.

+1. Next week will be a full year on my razzo (newer paint scheme). My first 29er and didn't want to spend a lot of cash and regret it if I didn't like it. I love this frame, super light, climbs great in or out of the saddle, really happy overall.
