    Trek Remedy or Giant Reign?

In the market for a new bike. My LBS is a dealer for both Trek and Giant and can get me a bit of discount but I can't decide what one to go for.

Any one have these bikes and whats you thoughts?

Also is there any other bike someone like to add feel free.

What type of riding do you do? What do you like about the two bikes? They aren't direct competitors, the Remedy would be compared directly to a Trance. I rode a Trance Advanced 2 a few days ago, and it was a very very nice bike. Pedaled very well, and was great on the downhills.

The Fuel EX is a 29er. I believe both Trance and Remedy are 150mm trail bikes, and the Reign is more enduro/bike park focused.

Yea sorry should have added a bit more detail. Looking a bike that aimed at Enduro, I ride natural forest trails and do the odd bike park day. Looking to enter an Enduro or two next year aswell. I have a 2015 Trance 1 ATM. My bad I thought the Remedy was Treks 650b enduro bike.

What I like is my LBS stocks them and I'll get good discount lol.

    Trek wise.
Remedy 27.5 Enduro bike 160/150 travel
Slash 29er Enduro bike 160/150 travel
    Fuel 29er 130/130 more trail/all mountain/XC
Fuel Plus 140/130 more all mountain/trail./ Stupid fun bike though
Giant wise, If you want to compare bikes for enduro. Look at the Reign its a 160/160
The trance can be used also, its 150/140 bikes. Like a older Trek Remedy

Personally I'd go with Trek. Wife owned a older Giant. Worked ok. but they are heavy bikes
    Too Many .

it is an enduro bike that also makes a good trail bike if you use a faster tire. in fact the 2017s are on clearance. my local dealer has one demo 17.5 remedy 9.9 left for 3900. the remedy is a decent enough frame but the builds were kind of questionable in 2017

competitive cyclist will also give you 20% off list on a 2017 santa cruz bronson which is like a remedy. i just prefer the fit a bit more.

Giant Reign is the best Enduro bike out for 2017...

At least that's what one reviewer stated ^^

With a discount the Reign Advanced would be killa ;-)

    NB, I'm a little biased as I own a 2017 Reign 2.

I did demo (twice) the 2017 Remedy 8... Climbing chops went to the Remedy 8. Descending chops went to the Reign - which is what Enduro is all about.

Riding bud rides a 2017 Slash ^^ it seems like an OK mule. It has been squeaking though & he hasn't gotten much love from his lbs, as the squeak can't be reproduced in the shop.

But, he's taken video footage to assist his Warranty claim. Had us all smirking slightly, as his several thousand $$ steed would squeak it's way up the trail.

While my steal, of a lightly used bike - was Ninja stealthy quiet =)

The knock block put me off the Trek and I'm more than happy with my Trance build wise and back up so starting to come round to the Reign

Knock block is honestly kind of a non issue. All you need is a $15 part to convert to any stem you want if you don't want to run a bontrager. There are plenty of other reasons not to like trek it's just the knock block is really far down the list. Proprietary shocks I would consider a much bigger negative. Build kits that use a lot of In-House parts also not a huge fan of that. The knock block on the bright side gives you a really stiff downtube
