Santa Cruz Nomad CC. Just finished building it. Epic ride/suspension tuning session is planed for tomorrow.
Used some parts from my previous bike, hence the short dropper, but 150mm one and wide carbon wheels are on to do list.

This is a trail in South Korea, in Yongin city on a ridge along what's known as Horse Mountain. The trail's been named Cemetery Ridge, and that's because what you see in the background is a massive cemetery. It's huge, and is all along that hill you can see and the one I'm standing on, off to the right. It was a good ride, though I started cramping up later on in the ride

The air quality is typical over here, I wish China would send their smog elsewhere!

Been reading up on bikes for a while trying to figure out what's next. Honed in on the 27.5 idea and steel then narrowed down from there. I liked what I read on 27.5 Plus and brought this home Friday.

Very nice feel and a bit different but impressive in every way from my 14 + year old 26" X 2.2 al hard tail. Barely got in time to ride and just a few miles but put it through some climbs, rocks and dust. Really impressed and feeling like I did my homework.

I'm 40 and this is the first bike I've been on since terrorizing the neighborhood on a bmx bike as a kid.

I'm a big motorcycle racing fan (moto gp and world sbk) and owned a couple sportbikes and work at a dealership. So I'm no stranger to 2 wheels. Just used to it having a motor. Lol!

Anybody move to 27.5 from a 29er? Would love to hear some input on why you prefer 27.5 to 29.
I'm currently on a SC Highball 29, but debating switching to a different frame like a Salsa Timberjack, or just changing to a 27.5 hardtail.

I've always ridden 29ers (Haro Mary, Salsa Spearfish, Kona Unit and a bunch of Cube Stereo 120's) but now I took a change with Cube Stereo 140 27.5. I don't "prefer" it, I just wanted to get another perspective to the sport. I've only ridden it during winter trails so far, but it does feel a bit nimbler and more active to ride than a 29er.

But that's old news, we're all been told that everywhere. I personally think that the difference is not that big after all. Traction's been the biggest difference so far. But I really do need to get more miles on it to find out the truth. If only the ice would melt off the trails here in Finland..

For tires im going with Ardents, 2.25. They seem to be pretty popular where I ride and most people I've talked to say they're a good option for the trails around here in central KY.

For wheels, was thinking about the Crank Brothers Cobalt 2, but Nashbar has a Shimano XT tubeless ready wheelset of similar weight for $220, and for a TR wheelset I feel that might be too good to pass up. Going to the LBS Saturday first to see what they might have.

I found a extremely cheap Scott Scale carbon 2016(this is why it was cheap) and I've decided to upgrade everything except the frame.

The list of work so far includes:

    Thomson Carbon bars
    Thomson Stem slammed
    Thomson seat post
    Thomson seat clamp
    Shimano XTR Race brakes
    Sram XX1 eagle drive train
    Fox Stepcast forks
    ESI grips
    DMR pedals
    Now runs tubeless

I thought the Fox Stepcast with the Kashima would look cool with the gold eagle.

This is all i can afford at the moment so i will look into wheels at a later stage when i have more spare funds.

About 3 weeks in for riding the new bike..... really enjoying the 'modern' bikes as compared to early 1990 and early 2000.

One month anniversary on the new ride.

Def enjoying the 60's and 70's temps more in the past few days. This picture is from early April.
Monday, did a short loop around the local park, wiped down the factory guck off the sides of the chain and fiddled with my new tire gauge some to discover actual tire pressures below 20 psi are not registering accurately at all on my previous gauge. Happy to have discovered that early on.
Also have a few rides and miles in testing the handlebar bag and all is secure and holding up well.

I like my new for me 27.5 Ridley Ignite aluminum 1.5 inches more than my 26" bikes. The difference in feel between the 2 sizes is subtle. This is a pic on it's test run before hitting the trails. I swore I wouldn't budge on my devotion to 26ers, but for the price of new frames and parts I couldn't resist. BTW no back pedal issues with the 73mm bottom bracket with the 2.5 mm spacer placed on the non drive side of the crank...all Shimano drivetrain (11-42 cassette) except for the Race Face NW chainring.
