    Post pic's of 650b conversions

I know a list exists of 26" to 650b bike conversions, but I would rather see pictures of said bikes.
Im currently in the market for a new bike and Im going 650b, from what I heard , Im intereseted in the SC Blur carbon, Turner Fiux and maybe the Ventana El Bastardo, which is already 650b.

I dont want to lay down some hard earn cash on some bike I only have heard works with 650b and find out that there are clearence issues or it does not work with 650b, so please, if you have any of the bike listef or any other, post pictures, thanks

Complete fs, ht in progress. Low on funds. 650 wheels w/ 2.3 Neo's worked on VooDoo and my alum Motobecane Fly too.

BTW, there is a 650 picture thread with hundreds of pix in here:

Those are some bada$$ bikes. I had my Lefty equipped Bianchi DISS converted to 650b until I had to give the borrowed parts back, but Im building up 650b SS wheels soon and hopefully converting my Lefty over also, but if not, I have a Fox Talas that Im not using. After riding other 650 bikes as well as my Bianchi, Im sold on 650b. I cannot believe the following 29ers have...if only those followers put time on a 650 bike, I'd bet things would be different.
The SC Carbon Blur looks like the geared bike I'll be running, unless someone can show me a DW linked Turner Flux with 650b wheels?

I think that it is 650b in the front only. I heard a while back that turner was experimenting with 650b, dont know whatever came from that..or if that rumor was true

    Another Voodoo Bizango:

I wasn't happy with the way it rode. I think the fork was too short for the frame--an 80mm rigid fork on a frame designed for ~120mm sus fork.

My 1993 Kona Explosif converted to 650b.

Gearing is 18/28/46x11-38. The 13.0 inch low gear and the longer contact patch make this bike climb like a mountain goat. The 28 tooth middle ring is perfect for the majority of the riding I do.

    MTB Pilot,
How do you like the 650b set-up on the Firebird? What are the ride differences 26 vs 27.5? I would think certainly less pedal strikes, huh?

    My conversion...
Pacenti quasi-moto front and rear. Had to shim the rear shock 3-4mm to allow enough clearance at full compression (just in case). Several rides and really liking how it handles so far.

I go back and forth, but the flats were on because of the pictures I took to sell it; Those pedals were part of the Black/Orange theme. I normally ride clipped in anymore, it gives me the most power and keeps my feet from coming off in our rough terrain

Just find it interesting that the AM 26'er guys seem to favor flats while more of these conversions appear to have clipless

Hi Kilan, very nice. What frame size is your 301 and would it take a 711mm wheel dia ( the HD's are 705mm WD)?

The HD has around 708mm. Clearance for 711mm should be enough on the frame - probably a bit narrow on the 36.
    Frame is an XL.

Here's mine..a little late, since I built it up more than a year ago. 2012 Santa Cruz Blur XCc, large.
First picture is of the bike, have switched to 2.25 Schwalbe Racing Ralphs , second picture a result of racing this bike, the 2012 Rim Nordic Cat.1 50+ overall, this bike is just awesome, does everything I wanted it to do, XC racing and everyday trail bike.

2013 Blur with custom graphics, rock guard, rear shock remote since pic taken, under 23lb with heavy tires. RRs used for racing. Since my fork was a 1 1/8 straight steer, I made a zero stack lower cup (could have bought one for $35 but what's the fun in that) to help speed up steering and lower bb a bit (lowers headtube by 8mm). BB comes in right at 13" which is perfect for my area. I'm loving the ride!
    Blur XCc Large
No tubes rims (damn insert at weld seam came loose!! Clack, clack, clack!!)
    I9 hubs (the best)
    KCNC cranks and seat post
    zero stack headset
    KMC chain
    XTR cassette and pedals
    Hope Brakes
    Race Face bars
New Ultimate stem (flexy but very light)
    Fox fork and shock
RR tires...soon to be Karma's if Kenda gets off their butts!

Good job! Clearance and tire size

    Hi,

I think Gelliman is asking me? Anyway here it goes.
The tires iīm using are RRalph in the only size they have in 650b/27,5.
The clearance is comfortable , i havenīt measured it, my rides donīt have muddy trails; but, if you have them, there should not be any problem.

My wheels are ZTR Crest (took of the stickers), with DT Swiss 240S hubs.

You that looks like suffient clearence, I was wondering about that bike before bought my SC Blur. I'm very happy with the converted Blur, but its nice seeing pictures of conversion, rather then just hearing about what works. You wouldn't know about the Cannondale Flash carbon and their compatibilty with 650b?

My Prophet....actually running a 29er up front but the rear is 650b. Love it, very similar geo to my Yelli but with a soft arse
Pictured is with a Hans Dampf 2.4 , which cleared, but only just so now using a neo moto 2.1. Also added a dropper post.
The Prophet is ahead of its time, 1.5" head tube fits tapered forks, internal cable routing on the rear section and no noticeable pedal bob, climbs like a goat.... bloody amazing.
When I want to go hard tail I swap my front end back onto my Yelli - same bearings, takes me under 10 mins

I just finished building up my new Santa Cruz Nickel 650b. I haven't taken it for a ride besides up and down the street and through the yard, but I'm going to put it through it's paces this afternoon. I'll try to write a good ride report for those that are interested in my thoughts of the bike.

2012 Manitou Minute Pro fork (140mm travel, tapered steerer, 20mm axle)
Rock Shox Monarch Plus RC3 (MM tune)
    Cane Creek 40 headset
    RWC shock needle bearings
    Answer ProTaper 720mmx25mm rise
    70mm Easton Haven stem
Stans Flow EX 650b with Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs
